mx-1, efina, and now these guys. i hope there is a interchangeable camera next. i wont complain yet if there aren't any until end of this year though, as long as a couple of new lenses and the flash gets released.

so canon and pentax users are jumping to Nikon or the mirrorless group?
the urge to buy the whats new is very tempting to me. but since my job isn't connected to photography, i really dont need to upgrade. and i think some of us here are more or less in the same boat. do i want to buy one? yes. do i have to buy it now? nope. i'll buy either when I need 1 or pentax actually makes 1. if neither of the 2 conditions are met, i'll buy maybe a 3rd lens just so i have something "new" with me.
I agree with your last statement. and its rather sad.

^more interactive? Pentax will make a) apsc will all the bells and whistles and some more new specs, b) k-5 with a FF sensor, and c) a new line of fast and wide lens. then they will have a 24hr poll for people to vote a, b, or c. people will vote via their website or send a sms message somewhere. the product that wins will be the one launched. and we will never see the losing products ever. =)

Per my understanding from my officemate, they ship it somewhere else before selling it to PH. They don't sell it here after making them.

interesting, k-5n and a k-3. i wonder if this dream would come true. if these 2 dream objects merge with each other and then with the other post about pentax optimizing the X-Trans CMOS then that would be wild.

i actually think it looks good. is this something i would buy for my usage? no. if pentax does come out with a new travel friendly P&S i might buy one to replace my lx3. sometimes, i just dont want to bring my dslr. so a nice p&s would still be awesome.

the k5 replacement(whatever it is named) that is technically k30 with magnesium alloy body, a few more focus points, a bit higher max resolution, 24mp(though i think 18mp is ok as well), scene mode of k30 still there, dual card slot, and WB braketing(not sure if i want this but its a prediction).
then some lenses for Q and MF line then a couple of DA* and FA lenses .

i also started photography a little over a year ago. aside from shooting stuff when i'm on a vacation, most of the scene I see is something that someone has shot already. however, i try to look at those normal\common items a little differently.
i am painfully not creative. however, i usually go to a spot, lean somewhere and just shoot. after some time i sit down around where i was standing, then start shooting again. if noone is around, i'll lie on my belly and start shooting again. if there are people, i put my camera near the ground and start shooting again. by doing this, i get an idea of the place in different perspectives. if i shoot something and interest me a little, i go around that "thing" and start shooting in as many angles as i can.
i also try to read on a photo technique or just fool around with the settings and again i do what i just wrote above. i've tried making a DTI diffuser(my tshirt, a folded paper, a very thing white plasticky lid for food, etc). i've shot things in my apartment with only my tv on as a light source, so i can practice shooting at low light(no, i dont take a picture of the tv, but that is the only light source open except for whatever light comes in from the window).
lastly, I go to gatherings. any gathering. I start shooting and again fool around with the settings. i have more next to useless pics but i do have pics that i like. im not yet using postprocessing but i have raw files of almost all my shots. so i can play with that as well in the near future. long story short, unless you are talking about some unexplored place in this planet, even the older guys would have shot a scene that someone before them have already shot but we associate it to a photographer because he saw it differently from most of us, took it, and showed it to us. then we enjoyed it. ahehehe

thanks elpolodiablo!
yes, Cebu is great. it has lots of beaches nearby that I can go to shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. of course i don't have the luxury of time to always do that. hehe
yes, there is a pentax site here though its mainly for building the cameras. i cant go there to have it serviced or buy lens and\or accessories. the buying part i don't mind since I really don't have plans to buy much except for the Ricoh lens I mentioned in my earlier post. but for having it checked in the future if needed, that would be a problem. in our country, I know of only one authorized place to have a pentax system serviced(cleaned, checked, etc). In Cebu specifically, I only know 1 branch. i'm taking real care so I wont need have to go there.

thanks for the advice. I haven't bought it yet. from what i read in another subforum here in this site is that if it's "XR" the pin should not be there. the "P" version is the one I should be afraid of. However, I asked the seller if I could check it out(I will be meeting him end of June) and try it(if i don't see the pin) before buying it. he agreed. despite that, I am still looking around for more info. better safe then sorry :)

Thanks Alizarine and Frogfish
I have been browsing the forum since early this year and mostly reading threads whose topic is similar to questions I have. I thought I should get an account as well in case I have a question whose similar thread is hard to find already. hehe
So far, I am quite happy with my k7 and 2.8/40. i have a 50-200mm that i only used once, so technically I have only used 40mm. i have been practicing with that and so far im still in love with my setup. i might buy a 28mm F2.8 Rikenon XR. after that, no more.... for the year. hahaha.
but seriously, im new and i just like trying out the new things I learn in this site.

hhmm...
what would the k-3 look like? something like LX:
or MZ-D:
I got the pictures from the net.
though the specs (and price) will be the reason why people would buy it, i just don't see that many people talking how they would like it to more or less look like. I've seen a lot of posts about complaining that k7 and k5 is too small for their fingers. would a bigger, and most likely heavier, camera work for you? if so, how big should it go to be acceptable since people with smaller hands would have problems if the camera is "too" big.

good looking camera with great specs, having said that, I will not part with my k-7 for that. i would consider buying a FF if it comes out. need to save for one though.
