How do Pentax K1 pixel shift images compare with Fuji GFX images?

Production cars are designed and built for there buyers needs, and the same applies to cameras, the Fuji GFX specs & cost serves someones needs, the K-1 too, but i would still choose my 645D if its between the K-1 or 645D, "one" of my reasons are my 40x30 40X60 landscape prints, the crop factor in the 645D cleans up the weak edges of the full frame 645 FA lenses which shows up at such magnifications, and would still keep using my 645D vs the Fuji GFX, i have 5 645 FA lenses 3 of them are jewels, the 120 macro, 45-85 and the 80-160 beside the 35mm and 300mm, the auto-focus system is dead on always so no need to worry about peaking beside i use small F-stops for vast landscapes, my only reservation is the preview time after shooting and system weight , for travel and light package my Nikon D800E with two F4 zooms serves the need. BTW the kinda slow 645D shooting workflow do help to produce better results similar to the impact of large format workflow.

I tried the Pentax Glass on 5D MK2, there focal lengths didnt make sense to me compared to the Canon focals, the FA45-85 at 55 equals the canon 50mm 1.8 with some chromatic on the edges, the FA 120 was sharper and better contrast then the Canon 70-200 f4 IS L at the 120mm setting and equal to the Tamron 90 f2.8 Macro with the Tamron going blue a bit because of the glass formula, i think the Pentax glass is good on both the 5D and 645D due to there close Pixel size (6.0 645D vs 6.4 5D), i am not 100% sure of my findings because of memory..lol , its been few months and i am far from home to go back check them on my desktop PC.

i don't see using MF glass on new 35mm DSLR make a use unless you miss a focal length u dont have in your 35mm bag and u have it in your MF bag and again you need to test it to see if the glass formula do good on Digital Sensors

I use my FA 300 5.6 mostly at f13 , i dont handheld MF at all because i always print Big and care for the micro details , at f16 u get a bit more depth if you stack " it soften a bit due to diffraction" otherwise the f13-14 is good enough for flat scenes and leave the rest to the 645D CCD to add the 3D effect :)

I think we all wish we all are very sure of what we say, do or write despite our experience, words like " great " " Excellent " and so are mostly miss used nowadays specially when we have a very wide spectrum of mixed level audience, and specially when we express our " opinion " as a solid fact.

i find the 45-85 and the 80-160 to be a must "basic kit" lenses , they are the best zooms i have used yet in sharpness and contrast beside the Nikon 14-24.
you can complement them with a 120 macro.

But for Pro work u need few more lenses , but be picky in samples specially the 35mm

I doubt a FF 645D, i thought there new lenses are made for a cropped 645 sensor, beside that the cropped factor save them from extream corners problems

If you are not a Pro Landscape/ Archi photographer and you dont Print over 20x30 and extreme corners are not a concern to you and going with Nikon glass only and you are not a "perfectionist" then the Nikon D800/E will serve you better.

well .... the better the lens+Sensor the less stress to the image in PS, but still software sometimes do flip the game, such as Stitching, if it wasn't there DMF cameras would have no competition when it comes to large images game, and wide film cameras like the 16X9.

Even an 8mp camera is an overkill for monitor viewing "nowadays" and even if you crop it to 2mp, and even if you have an iMac 4mp monitor the 8mp is an over kill unless its 2020 when the 30mp monitors starts to show up in the market to view the future 30mp broadcast standard( its available and researched in Japan nowadays), then i would say the 40mp is what you need, but by then i predict the MP factor is different, pixels might combine all hues in them and glassless 3D at 30mp+ is real life

Every tool has a need and use, when we go shopping for a car we do a list of needs on paper or in our minds listing all our needs from it, some needs it purly for transportation with small budget, some wants it to complement Her/His image ....etc, every Car in the showrooms meet someones needs and Budget.
If You feel the Nikon D800 meets your Photography style and budget needs then its your tool, i thought of the step you are thinking to take but realized the D800E wont replace my 645D for "My" type of work "but" it will complement it and replace my Canon 5DMK2, the 645D with its crop factor and sharper bigger a bit more Pixels CCD and the FF Pentax glass gives me perfect edges and print Quality in Big Prints.

i have the 645D for a year with FA35, FA45-85, FA80-160, FA120, FA300 5.6.
The 35 and 300 are not as good as the rest, the FA300 is low cotrast and FA35 is soft in beyond mid and extreme edges the others are as good as glass can be " any where any brand" specially the 45-85 and 120

Typical 645D excellence when in the right Hands..., BTW Ryan have you thought of the D800E+Zeiss 21mm combo to complement your Pentax system?
