The Pentax K5 with 50-200 DA WR is just a brilliantly versatile, conceived, and engineered product, where "water resistant" has been tested as 2 hours full water immersion = No worries about sand in the camera or lens, rain, or accidently falling into the rock pool!

Prime lenses are soooo expensive! I reckon old m/f primes are pretty darn good, myself. Especially when comparing $30 vintage to $500+ for new.
Not so weird as lenses go, but daring for me ~ I bought a Tokina 28mm f2.8 M42 with 2x Teleplus M42 in rather nice condition for its vintage for $30aud ~ 1st picure taken on K5 with adapter (non-infinity) is pic #1. Thinking this worked out OK, I then bought a Ricoh Rikkenon135mm f2.8 PK m/f for $60aud, 1st pic taken with this is pic #2. I just now bought online a Soligor 250mm f4.5 m/f for $15aud, (I'll need to clean it inside), but that's better IMHO than paying $180aud + for a Samyang 500mm mirror lens (which is about the cheapest long focal length lens around).
My thoughts about lenses are ~ don't get caught up with the opinions of lens "techsperts". For me, if a lens takes a nice pic, it takes a nice pic ~ the lens name or (laughing) >reputation< has zero bearing. My favourite lens is a simple old Sigma 35-80 macro zoom I bought 2nd hand online for $20aud, & there are billions for sale for next to nothing plus postage.

Overcast and wet weather provides the very best combination of light diffusion, shadow, colour, contrast, and reflection imho.
Slow shutter speeds with as low as possible ISO deepens both shadow and colour saturation, capturing the light and wet ambiance.
Hand held @ 200mm + Hoya PL-CIR, and one very . . . deep . . . breath.

Hi all ~ Bazzio101 here.
I love Pentax cameras for some unknown reason ~ maybe because Pentax has shown itself to be more innovative than other camera manufacturers.
I also very much dislike the sheer number of models available from the likes of Canon ~ what's a buyer to do . . . . believe the sales person? :hmm:
Anyways, I love photography anf right now I'm just doing the obligatory post so I can add to the lens review data base.
