Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8 EX DG OS HSM K-mount Asking Price
1,200.00 AUD Item Location
Melbourne (Australia) Item Description
This is an excellent high quality lens, super fast (aperture as well as focus), it's quiet and the quality of the shots is great. Have added a couple of shots I took this arvo at the end.
It's hardly been used (guessing a couple hundred shots max) and in excellent condition. Selling it as it is a bit too large/heavy for my purposes (much prefer it to be used rather than gathering dust (only figuratively speaking, it comes with its original protective soft case).
Rare find with k-mount for Pentax cameras.

I have both the Sigma 50mm 1.4 and the 85mm 1.4, using both on my K5. Both are great lenses and I'd recommend them both. However I love the 85mm to death and it is my favourite lens by far! The 50mm produces some really good quality shots too but seems to be a bit soft in the centre sometimes. I don't do portraits though so can't really comment but I'd guess the 85mm might be a bit too long (my understanding is that 85mm was the choice for 35mm cameras. With the APS-C the 50mm is now equivalent to the 85mm previously).
So short answer: I think the Sigma 50mm, 1.4 would be a good choice!

Thanks Jean!
Haha, yes it was freezing and there's only a relatively short window of time between too little light and the sun coming through.
Thanks and yes, I agree, the shapes are intriguing. I think No 5 and 8 almost look like little soldiers... No 4 like an ice-ringed heart.
Problem is with these shapes, they are so tiny that I can't see them just by eye, so it's a bit of hit and miss with the shots...

Did you also spot the Emus? :-)
The last one I call 'Aussie Easter Bunny' for the little Roo in front of the bush (the picture was taken on Easter Sunday)

That's exactly right, except the beers were the evening before. This was sunrise and a very chilly one at that!

Great shot! They are beutiful animals! The closest I ever got to one was when I nearly stepped on it (ironically looking out for good photo opportunities). Would have much preferred to have it on film than on my leg... but luckily it missed and disappeared. I think it was probably equally as scarred as I was (or more).

Easter trip to country Victoria, Australia. These were taken at sunrise on a vast flood plain near the River Murray where we camped, just us and some natives...

Once when I was in a camera shop to by a lens for my K5 another customer picked up a new camera the wrong way. The strap must got caught somewhere sending a brand new camera flying through the air, dropping on concrete floor and skidding for a couple of meters on the floor. I had a closer look, smiled and said: ah, it's a K5... You'll be fine. And he was. :-) (Shop assistants too were only worried about the lense and not the camera...)
