I agree. Sense UI is the best Android UI overlay out there within all the android phones.
Everything are within easy to reach, unconfusing, logical arrangement as compare to the confusing touchwiz.
Sense UI will give first time android user easier time to pickup how to use or work everything on android over other android UI even better than the base android system.

It really depends on your budget and how much you know about photography.
K-30, K-50 for beginners and K-3 for more advanced user.

If you have the budget to spend, the K3 is certainly a better camera than the K-30.
If not, the K-30 itself is a very decent camera. Check out the K-30 section here and take a look at members uploaded pics.

BTW, in all the "new" android phones, Nexus5 has the best deal (as in price to function/processing power ratio) now if you order it directly from Google Play website.

Like someone here already mentioned, if you consider about WindowsPhone, make sure you first check if the apps you need is available or not.
On top of that, be aware that unlike Android or Iphone, some models of WindowsPhones do not have the screen orientation lock, which means the screen will always auto rotate for you even if you don't want it to when you rotate your phone sideway or vertical.
Also, on some models, it doesn't not vibrate and ring at the same time when call is received, it goes like vibrate-->ring-->vibrate--->ring....until you pick up. Some people may not like this cause it is comparative easier to miss picking up calls.
And the way it's e-mail application handle attachments or forwarding e-mail attachments is also quite different than in Iphone/Android/Blackberry.
If you can live with all these, those Nokia WindowsPhones do have quite decent cameras.
Go test them out yourself first.

It's strange that you can now find Nexus5 much cheaper than Nexus4.

Sorry about your loss and more sorry about your poor dog. Look at the bright side, your dog at least didn't run away or you would be worry to death about your dog now instead of your camera. When my home was broken into a few years ago, the 2 puppies I was puppy-sitting for a friend were gone cause the fu_kers left my front door open when they left.
I worried sick to my stomach. Fortunately, some extremely nice dog owners in the neighborhood saw them and took them to the closest animal shelter and we got them back a few days later.
Wish they catch those A-holes and recover your lost items soon.
BTW, time to think about installing some kind of home security system and camera system to your home.
Also, if you have home insurance, you can file claims for what they have taken.

Nexus5 is good value.
The HTC One is also a very nice android phone. Yes, I know most people who pick Android would buy Samsung, but IMHO, HTC tuned android UI is way better and more user friendlier than the Touchwiz android ui tuned by Samsung.

Thanks for the info.
I guess I can live with it as long as it is not affecting the actual image.
But is this going to get worse? Like more white pixels appearing.
Is there some kind of preventive measure for this problem?

Today I found out there is a very very tiny white/hot pixel on my one year old K-30 LCD screen.
Anyone else have this same problem?
Is this a common problem with Pentax cameras? Should I send to back to Pentax for repairing? I am not even sure if mine still within the warranty period of not.:(

K-30 doesn't have auto focus when taking video.
Other than just judging by looking at the live view, how do you tell if you are on focus or out of focus?

In no way a healthy battery would last this short.

I have the exactly same setup as yours.
One original battery in the camera, one knockoff/oem in the camera bag, plus the AA adaptor and 8 eneloops for backup.
The eneloops are also for my flash gun and LED panel for video.
Honestly though, ever since I "upgraded" to my K-30 (from a Panasonic FZ-30), I rarely have to touch my flash gun anymore. The high iso performance of the K-30 is that good for me.
So far, the 2 oem type batteries are enough to handle my shooting needs, including shooting 90 mins of soccer games. I have never had the chance to employ the adaptor yet.

I took my K-30 18-135WR combo out many times under heavy rain without any problem afterwards at all. And yes, I zoom my lens all the time under the rain, still no problem what so ever.
Last year, I took it to a Sounders game which it was raining heavily all 80 mins out of the 90 mins of the game. I can tell you I was the only guy in my whole section who was using a DSLR.
And last month, I took it with me kayaking and have water constantly splashing onto it from my paddles and the paddles of my wife sitting in front of me. Again, no problem at all even with all that water splashing on it the whole time. |

Thanks guy.
I've just did the mirror text with my CPL and turns out it is really a CPL and not a linear one.
I guess it is more like the case Carrlangas and Na Horuk mentioned, it was too dark.
I had this rare opportunity last week witnessing in a very close range of a Peregrine falcon trying to fight off a few other birds from stealing its prey (a rabbit).
I took tons of pics with that CPL on and now wish I hadn't took them with the filter on. |

I recently found out that my K30 with 18-135wr lens have hard time making the correct focus when zooming all the way to 135mm and with the circular polarzier filter on.
Is that because the filter I have is not of good quality? Or is it a common problem with this lens? Or do I have to adjust some options in the camera or lens when using such filter?
When I was using my Panasonic FZ30, I never had such focusing problem when adding a circular polarizer filter.
