Sooooo here are some random ones from the DA* 16-50 from the other day while golfing. One I was just bored waiting for my food and it looked interesting and the other was just some milkweed seeds sprouting.

And here's one with 16-50 from a football game last friday.

This one is a player diving to catch a touchdown pass. I had my camera on a monopod and just held it up as high as possible and used a wireless remote. I would have been better off at ground level but I thought it was an interesting take/angle.

And some with the DA* 60-250 F4, these were all at ISO 6400/8000 and 1/800th at F4. Noise reduction just done in lightroom.

I stopped by the high school after I got off of work and managed to catch the last "2" minutes of the football game, managed to snap off a 7 shot string of the last play of the game and managed to get a few keepers with the DA* 60-250:

ISO 5,000 F4 68mm 1/400th for all 3.

The last one was about half a second too early and the following one was maybe 1/4 of a second too late. The guy got hit HARD on the 1 yard line and basically slid a good 15 feet on the grass before coming to a stop and just laying there for a bit. Thankfully he only got the wind knocked out of him.

Here are 3 I snapped at the WIAA State Individual matches a week ago. All were with a DA* 55mm and K5-II. While the AF doesn't keep up with sports very well between the lens/camera, when it gets it right at big apertures...it works very well.

Righto, so I attempted to use a 3 flash setup the other day for the first time. I had a softbox with a speedlight on either side of me shooting diagonally across the room at the opposite person and my einstein strobe over my head with a 30º grid on it shooting at the middle of them. I feel like they turned out pretty well? I had to use pretty long shutter speeds to bring out the ambient from the lamp in the middle, thankfully the flashes froze them in place.

DA* 16-50
1/25th F6.3 ISO 640, 19mm

1/30th F11 ISO 500 22mm.

1/10th F8 ISO 320 50mm

1/15th F6.3 ISO 200 19mm

A few more with the DA* 16-50 F2.8 from Venetian Fest in Lake Geneva, WI.
I actually despise this town due to the large population of Chicago "We $h*t Money" People, but caught myself in it twice yesterday shooting for the paper. Got some nice fireworks shots out of it :P

Took a trip up to Door County Wisconsin this weekend. I'm still digesting the pictures because I only brought my 5 year old dying laptop with that can't be calibrated and wants to die even when importing images. I also bought the DA*16-50 the day before going. Here's one with my 60-250 though:

Side Note: I changed my name from DarkPrince to MRHPhoto, I figured at 25 it's time to ditch my old gamertag and have a little more of a professional online presence :P

Just a few from my trip to Door County last weekend:

I was interviewing for a possible freelance photojournalist position with my local paper today, when I got home I decided to try and set up my 9 foot white seamless that's been sitting in my garage since march. I nearly broke the background support stands and actually bent one putting it up (which was a pain to curve back but thankfully I did). I thought it was a little cooler today but man was I wrong, trying to set that up in a garage with no AC or air movement in 90º while wearing dress clothes was not smart haha. I did manage two decent shots before I gave up, tore down and went inside to enjoy the gift that is air conditioning. Apologies if it's big, I'm linking from my DeviantArt account which I don't know if it does size reduction. Normally I shrink the shots to 20% and upload through photobucket.

Here are a few more with my X100. Been kind of busy with work so haven't been able to shoot much.

And a goofy edit of a friend of mine. I just loved the colors in his sunglasses :P

I just bought an X100 off of the pentax marketplace here and received it last monday and absolutely love it! I was the best man in a wedding on friday and while I lugged my K-5 and DA*55/Tamron 10-24 along this little thing fits almost comfortably in my pocket and surprised the heck out of me and the rest of the bridal party. This is a LINK to the facebook album from that, but for the more interesting stuff I love taking it with me in my golf bag or just out and about:

SO here are some pictures with the 60-250 last night at a baseball game. Low light, converted to B&W to avoid dealing with white balance and color cast issues. These were all shot at ISO 1600+ and some noise reduction in Lightroom. For the two sports I've used it for (Golf and Baseball) it really does do well and the high ISO performance of the K5 is quite nice even at ISO 2,000.

I shot probably almost a full stop underexposed to keep the shutter speed around 1/1600-1/2000th but didn't want to bump up the ISO too much more.

A few shots from the storm that rolled through last night. All were 15-30 second exposures at ISO400, roughly F7.1-F8, I'm just happy I had a few turn out since I only had time to take about 35 pictures before it all blew in. Makes me wish I had the DA* 16-50 though because this Tamron isn't weather sealed :P

Just got myself a Paul C Buff Einstein 640 for my birthday and it came yesterday. Had some fun experimenting with it using my DA*s

Self Portrait 80mm 1/160th F10 Iso100 7" reflector with a 10º grid attached. (DA* 60-250mm F4)

MY BOX! 55mm 1/160th F6.3 Iso100 barebulb inside a 28" softbox. (DA* 55mm F1.4)

still working on what I want to use it for, but now I've got a heck of a lot more power than my 10 year old used Nikon speedlight and fast enough for action stopping shots :)

DA* 60-250mm (250mm) F/8.0 1/200th ISO 200

Golden Eagle? Whitefish Bay: Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

There's a slight chance it's an adolescent Bald Eagle because they are brown until adulthood, but I'm pretty sure it's a golden after I looked them up in a book at a local book store?

So I made another little friend while out playing golf this evening. I always take my camera bag with me and this little guy had falling INTO one of the holes. The cup is plastic and flat so it had nothing to grip and was stuck down in it. Took it out and I put it on my cart seat, busted out the K-5 and the DA*55 mm. I tried the 60-250 but the minimum focus distance makes it look further away than the 55 and the 55 seemed much sharper. When I was done I was getting ready to put it back down away from the hole...and it had a sibling crawling toward me haha. Thankfully these little snapping turtles aren't quite big enough to take off my finger yet :P

First, 55mm, F/3.2, 1/800th, ISO 400

And for Size comparison, #2

55m, F 4.0, 1/500th, ISO 400
