Hi, I'm the guy that worked on some K-1 support in darktable :)
Basic support is ready is the last release, but since my K-1 is now in repairs, I cannot finish the noise profiles yet..
What is not going to work soon, sadly, is multi white balance and pixel shift as these requires significant changes in the data processing workflow.

Funny, those times, I was under the impression the majority of people with cameras (read phones) had only pictures of themselves :D

I have the B+W 49mm F-PRO polarizer (*not* the XS) and it works like a charm despite appearing quite thick. It's also up to the optical quality of the 15mm.

I'm left handed and I don't have issue with the handling of a SLR... My right hand fingers are able to push a button, in fact I prefer keeping my left hand for fine focusing/zooming.

I am really thinking about buying this lens if (when) a FF body is released, it seems to be a particularly impressive one (even if many reviews are quite hard on the focusing speed)

Same here, I feel I waited enough and loyalty is becoming stupidity on this matter. It is even worsened by the fact that Ricoh is seemingly back in charge of product development and we will get more sorry jokes of gadgets instead of the no-nonsense photographic gear I bought into Pentax for.

Absolutely, 9000€ body that use 4000€ lenses, in which I cannot reuse no K mount lense, is 3 times as big and twice heavy is totally what the people wanted. Do not be fooled by the fact there was already a pentax digital 645 before this one.

Dear Ricoh, small hint : the best time is *not* after everybody ditched your brand because you waited for Godot.

I'm sorry, are you telling us you are at *pro* level with those pictures quality? You should really have a look at Ron Hendrick or the many 50-135 users pictures, and review your "myths"...

This guy distorts the purposes of formats (or rather codecs), and simply use badly quality setting in place of those.
Why badly? Because when he got it precious quality 100 jpeg, he already lost much dynamic range in his image: just try to do exposure or shadow/highlight correction in jpeg.
Then, what is his point? Just use jpeg quality 100? Then you just lost what is interesting in jpeg: size. Let's take a certain 16mpx raw, export it to jpeg and png, both 8 bits:
* pef: 24 MB
* jpeg: 22 MB
* png: 29 MB
So, png is substantially bigger, but the ratio is not as good as it used to be. Compressed tiff will fall in this range. Difference with pef is insignificant for processing purposes. So clever, we have a almost non-destructive storage option that use almost as much space as raw...
So no, if you care about those things: use raw as much as you can, if you must share the picture between many softwares, use compressed tiff, and save the result with a good, yet usable, jpeg (quality 90~95).

Yes, this must have been the source of the misunderstanding at some point. There should be no optical differences between the (non DA-L) II and WR version so.

That would be interesting to have a word about why new lenses are often slower than their previous iteration (I'm thinking DA 35 f/2.4 and DA 50 f/1.8). This is a bit embarassing as not only we must shoot at higher ISOs to compensate, and we loose DoF (when APS-C already robbed us of a factor 1.5).

I am not sure that touchscreens go along well with weather sealing. Aside the problem of screen waterproof-ness, there is the fact that water drops disrupt them.

If none are announced at CP+, can we expect some (D)FA lenses in 2013? If so, what kind of class can we expect? Will there be "normal" ones, or */limited are also planned?
