I was just going to post this. :)
Last time they were there, they had lots to play with, and lots of giveaways. ---------- Post added 03-11-2014 at 11:36 AM ----------
No problem. I didn't take issue with what you said. When I saw the lens at HCE, I thought it might be underpriced by several hundred, but your price showed that it wasn't a steal, but just a good (not great) deal. Your post helps people like me assess a deal.

So it wasn't that great of a deal. Thanks for the comparison post. Still, seems like a good price for a fast zoom.

Saw it in the store. However, I did see something about them having ebay auctions now. You might give them a call or search the 'bay and see if it shows up. They're an independent store, so they may deal over the phone even. They don't have their own webstore, though. Just a website that tells what/who they are.
I used to go there when I shot Pentax and they rarely had anything of interest, even though it's otherwise a very nice camera store with helpful staff. Lately, they've seemed to make more of an effort to carry the non-Canikony stuff. I'm shooting Olympus now, so it's not like I went to another popular brand. :) Still, they have a fairly decent selection of stuff for all the brands now.
Anyway, the Tokina seemed like a very good deal, so much so that I briefly thought of buying and flipping it. But I'd rather just tell you guys and have someone here buy it.

Houston Camera Exchange has a used Tokina AT-X 80-200 f/2.8 lens for sale for around $450. It's an autofocus lens and looks to be in really good shape. I almost wish I had a Pentax body to put this on.
Anyhoo....if you're in Houston, go check it out. They don't sell a lot of Pentax gear, so go check it out.

Legendary Pentax BOC! Can you believe it? Asking Price
100.00 USD Item Location
Houston, TX (United States) Item Description It's here at last! The lengendary Pentax BOC*! *Box of Champions, or Bag of Compendia, or bag of c... (in no way related to the w00t BOC, nope, never heard of w00t BOC before) Offered for your consideration is the Pentax box of crap. It contains flashes, flash adapters, external powered flash grips, extension tubes, remote flash cord, GPS unit, screen color calibrator, NIB 28-70mm zoom lens, Pentax O-ME53 magnifying eyepiece, a Pentax right angle eye piece (which didn't fit my Pentax dSLR so use it on your film Pentax), and (if I can find it) a Pentax wireless remote.
Everything is sold together, as-is, though everything worked the last time I used them. I'm leaving the Pentax world for now, so I'm cleaning out my remaining Pentax gear in one amazing Box of Collections.
The flash units can be very handy. The 9550 and 7500 tilt/swivel and zoom, plus they have a supplemental small forward flash. The 6550 will tilt and zoom only. See the attached photo for guide numbers for each flash. The flashes have electronic adapters for Pentax that give P-TTL, though they may not give P-TTL on newer cameras. I got P-TTL on my K20D and (I think) my K5. At least one of the flash units did not give P-TTL on my friend's Kx, so YMMV. Regardless, they work great as manual/slave flash units even if they don't give P-TTL on your camera.

Finally, if I can find it, I'll include a genuine Pentax wireless remote. But don't count on me finding it.

The Tamron is sold, pending payment.
The Pentax SMC-FA 50mm f/1.4 is still available. New, they're going for over $450 now. I'll sell you mine with a crappy little case for $225. This is a must-have lens for your camera. It can see in the dark!

Pentax FA50 f/1.4 & Tamron 90mm macro f/2.8 Asking Price
$225 USD for FA50/1.4 Item Location
Houston, TX (United States) Item Description
For Sale - Pentax SMC FA50mm f/1.4 - $225. Tamron SP AF90mm f/2.8 Di macro - $325 - SALE PENDING on Tamron
Both lenses are in good condition with no blemishes, minimal dust (I don't look for dust and don't worry about it - If you worry about dust then just assume there's some there and consider that in your offer). I am the original owner of both lenses and have had them for ~5 years or more. I'm not currently shooting Pentax, so I'm setting these babies free. :)
I'll ship pretty much anywhere. $15 per shipment in the US, $25 outside the US. If you don't have feedback here, please give me some other feedback you've received.
I've probably forgotten some into so feel free to ask questions. - I forgot to add that both come with their original boxes with the UPCs cut out of them (yay, rebates!). The Tamron also has a nice pleather pouch. For the Pentax, I'll include the crappy little lens case I found used somewhere. It's originally for the 50mm 2.8 macro (from a looooooong time ago), but it fits the FA50/1.4 just fine.
Thanks,

I have a long sleeved denim shirt with Pentax over the front pocket. I bought it on ebay a few years ago, and I'm giving it away free to the person that posts the best photo. What does "best photo" mean? I don't know right now, but I'll know it when I see it. ;) The shirt is a men's large and has been cleaned and pressed. I didn't want to open it up for pictures, so all you'll get is this crappy cell phone picture of it folded and sealed in plastic. Which is exactly how I'll mail it out to you if I like your photo the best.
Just post a photo that you think will capture my fancy, and I'll pick one on Sunday night. I'll post the winner here, and will mail it out the cheapest way possible (hey, it's a free shirt, what do you expect?).
Ready. Set. GO!

WINNER WINNER Chicken Dinner!!
Ron, I'm going with the blonde. Just a fun photo that makes me smile along with her. I'll send you a PM.
Lots of good photos. Thanks to all that played along.

Pentax DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 Asking Price
$650 USD Item Location
Houston, TX (United States) Item Description
I'm selling my Pentax DA*16-50. This is a great lens and is in great shape. I had the SDM fixed by Pentax authorized repair last year and it works like new. Lens comes with pouch, box, papers.
This is a used lens, and as such may have specs of dust. I take good care of my equipment but I don't obsess over dust. If it bothers you, factor that into your decision on whether or not to bid. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

Well, I guess I'll be hanging out here more often if I want to visit PF. I've just sold my K5 and several of my lenses. Soon, I'll be MFT only. I have the E-P1 and the OM-D, and I find that I use the OM-D to the exclusion of everything else. I hated to see my nice Pentax kit sit, so I decided to sell it. I'm sure I'll jump back in one day. Anyway, this was my wife's reaction when she found out I would be selling some of my "stuff" (she's the anti-hoarder):
Taken with the OM-D and the Sigma 30mm f/2.8.

Some one rightly mentioned that "Three Amigos" refers to the FA31, FA43 and FA77 Ltds. So I guess I'll have to call these "Tres Hombres" (Haww, haww, haww, haww! in my ZZTop voice).

The Three Amigos! I'm selling my three remaining DA Limited primes and if you buy all three, I'll throw in the Pentax Limited lens case. I'll sell all three together or I'll sell them individually. AND I'll include shipping and fees worldwide! You can beat a deal like this!
If you recently bought the K-01, this set is perfect for your small travel kit. Unsurpassed IQ with small size! These lenses are a perfect match for the K-01 kit. And of course, they work wonderfully well on the K5 and other Pentax dSLRs! You really can't go wrong with this set.
So, for $1100, you get the DA21, the DA40 (the limited version, not the XS version that came with the K-01), the DA70, all boxes, pouches and papers, plus the Pentax case to hold the three lenses. I'll even include the Pentax strap I put on the case to make it easy to carry!
If for some reason you want to break up the three amigos (you heartless beast!), I'll sell them individually for the following prices:
DA21 Ltd - $400
DA40 Ltd - $350
DA70 Ltd - $450
These prices include shipping anywhere in the world!
All three lenses are in good to excellent shape. They all work perfectly with clean glass. If you look closely, there are slight scuffs on some of the edges from use, but I could not get those to show up in the photos (they really are small marks that you have to look closely to find). I bought the DA40 and DA70 new, and the DA21 like new from here.
On to the pictures -
DA 21
DA 40
DA 70
(I guess I need to dust my lenses before photographing them.)
Send me a PM if you're interested. These babies won't last long!
