The design looks pretty cool. It's a shame it doesn't have a viewfinder. Otherwise it could be an amazing camera for a ski trips..small and durable. I even like the yellow version

Could you compose a picture through LCD in a bright sunny day? I mostly not. And even in low light situation is better to use OVF/EVF becasue of a better camera holding a thus reduction of a shake from hands

yes, exactly. They should show the Pentax strong points in a non intrusive way like this. It could bring far more attention to them then stupidities like this.

This is not an announcement of any kind, it's just a total mess! God, don't they even know how to properly announce their own products? Some of the specs of the camera looks nice and even the new lens looks interesting, but the price is a way off unfortunately.

So far the new Nikon looks very good, but I will wait for the reviews of the both cameras and then eventually upgrade my K10D with one of them after the price will settle a liltle bit next year

yes, I would like to see an updated version of this lens too. Will wait till Photokina and see if Pentax will improve the SDM, if not will buy a Tamron 17-50/2,8 which price is nearly 1/3 of the DA* 16-50 price, but with no WR and SDM.
