This discussion makes me think of season 5 of The Wire. Not focused on photography, but seemed like a good narrative showing how the industry was changing from economic and cultural pressures.

I know customs policies vary greatly, but I wonder what it would end up costing to order from Adorama with that great 649 USD K3 deal. Of course the warranty could then be a problem.
I wouldn't think you'd have much problem selling the k5iis through the Marketplace. They don't seem to come up for sale very often and maybe the prospective EU buyer would be prepared to pay whatever they commonly go for there.

I've thought about making the move from k5iis to k3. 400 sounds like a good price when considering the convenience and it is close to what they've been going for used, but the k3ii price seems a little high (at least for new from US dealers). Do they have a k3 for cheaper?

Nice shots! That 43mm is definitely in better hands now - being used as it deserves to be (often, well, and FF).

43mm sold, interest in sigma 17-70, 50-135 may be withdrawn soon, and no inquiries on FA 50. I don't know why some think otherwise, but the FA 50 is a sweet little lens: rose10003 by Joshua Robinson, on Flickr

Very little interest in lenses so far. Will hear offers, but would probably only come down on the 50-135.

Don't think I've looked at this thread before, but a lot of good shots. I had some old ones that I never cared for in color from the 17-70 macro v1. Tried black and white PP in lightroom. dairy-2 by Joshua Robinson, on Flickr dairy 2 by Joshua Robinson, on Flickr

Ha! But nope, not selling off. Just trimming down. Had Pentax gear for over 15 years and probably always will.
Cool to see another Pentaxian in Baton Rouge. It's been a long time.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
K5 (sold), FA 43mm MIJ (sold), DA* 50-135mm (sold), FA 50mm 1.4, Sigma 17-70 macro v1 (sold) Asking Price
525, 165 Item Location
Louisiana (United States)
Item Description
Need to trim down my kit - can no longer afford to keep what isn't used or essential. K5 - $300 shipped SOLD for $275
Shutter count 5,580. In excellent condition with no issues. Slight wear to one part of the grip upon close inspection, but don’t see anything else besides cosmetic dust. Comes with box and all original accessories. Original owner. 43mm limited - $415 shipped SOLD for $360
MIJ copy in excellent condition. Comes in original box with caps, leather pouch, papers. I don’t see any blemishes. I bought it used in like new condition and it doesn’t look like I added much or any wear to it. DA* 50-135 - $525 shipped
Bought in 2009. Excellent condition. Never shown any sign of SDM issues. I’ve had a B+W filter (included) on it since day one and it shows as the front element looks like new. One of the best lenses I’ve ever used, but I don’t find myself very often in situations that call for its advantages over the 100mm WR. Includes box (in ugly shape after being stored seperatley at one point), caps, pouch, and b+w filter. FA 50 1.4 - $165 shipped
Bought late 2008 or early 2009. In very good to excellent condition. I can see 1 or 2 dust specs inside, but they don’t affect IQ. Comes with box, caps, and a metal hood and Pentax pinch cap. Can swap that for collapsible rubber hood if preferred. Sigma 17-70 macro 1st version - $170 shipped SOLD for $150
Bought late 2008 or early 2009. This lens is very versatile. Haven’t used it much in ages as I favor primes and don’t use wide angle much. I would call it good condition. Not really any scratches or dings, but there is some color/finish change to the rubber parts (common from what I've seen with this style of Sigma lens) and I can see at least 4 small dust/fibers inside. I can't see that they affect IQ, though 1 or 2 are a little bigger than typical lens dust. Comes with box, caps, hood. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

If you appreciate build quality and compact size, the 100mm wr is truly unique. IQ is probably no better than the Sigma, but it is a joy to handle and there's always room for it to come along. Photography should be about taking pictures, but there's no harm in appreciating and valuing gear as works of art themselves, and the WR is definitely that.
I prefer the OOF rendering of the 50-135 or 31mm limited, but it's not so far behind them. I guess that's saying something.
