One frustrating aspect of such a project is the fact that a number of the chapters of the ultimate encyclopedia have already been written! Compiling all the projects that went before and filling the gaps would further utilize all those previous efforts! One can dream!

Unfortunately UV I have a handicapped wife who demands a large percentage of my time; I can't even write an email without interruption! I like the idea though!

A history needs to be a reference work and thus needs an index to access it at any given point. That's something that cannot be achieved with a video unless you construct a schedule with start times for each section. Hardly very practical. There are a number of excellent books available on the subject of Pentax but , as far as I am aware, not the encyclopedia that I desire. The video is brilliant but it is no substitue for the tome that I want to grace my bookshelf!

The thing I like about buying from Japan is that the equipment is invariably in pristine condition! I've bought cameras and lenses and never been disappointed. Communication has also been very good. Thus, I can highly recommend it. However, as scc mentions above, one has to take into account import duty and taxes. Here in the Netherlands I've been charged EUR 7 to import a small booklet costing EUR 10 which gives me the impression that there are no freebies any more, but that's just the Netherlands.

Thanks Blues_Hawk for your suggestions. I downloaded Rawtherapee for assessment but realized that a whole new learning curve is not going to help me - I'd just about mastered Aperture when Apple 86'd it! Can't imagine where I'd find a passing cloud in which to drop the RAW file. Thanks anyway.

I had the same problem a few weeks back when I came across two senior gentlemen who just had to be photographed sitting on a roadside bench in Bristol, England. Their positioning was just perfect for the first shot but the exposure was completely blown out. For the second shot the exposure was fine but their pose had changed, and not for the better. I managed to scrape a lot back within ON1 but I'm still not happry with the final result. It would be so nice if someone with more expertise than I would volunteer to cast their magic wand over the RAW file?!
