Better overthought than underthought :)
I know that it is not possible for people to see just as you do on a wide-gamut monitor, but I was thinking maybe use the sRGB mode and saving a virtual copy in Lightroom for web export only? Not sure what would work best but I'm sure there is a way around it.
Thanks.

Ok, thanks guys.
I guess I'll go with the Dell U2410 and start using Adobe RGB.
Once I edit my image with the wide gamut monitor, I would also like to export it in sRGB for web viewing. How would I do this so that the sRGB version of the photo matches exactly what I see on the wide gamut monitor? When posting to my website and social media, I would need people to see the image just as I did on my wide gamut monitor.

I understand how Lightroom works - just the whole color space thing that is a bit confusing to me. It's all about matching what I see on my monitor to the print or web version of that image. If I edit on a Adobe RGB monitor, then convert to sRGB for the web and look at it on a sRGB monitor (which the mass majority of people will have in their homes), will it not look different in any way? I have heard that when doing so, images become oversaturated.
So if Lightroom uses ProPhoto, and I am editing on a Adobe RGB monitor - I am actually limited to the Adobe RGB color space anyway so the Lightroom using ProPhoto is useless for me (unless I use a monitor with a higher gamut than Adobe RGB). Am I right?
Also, I found a Dell U2410 used for $300.

Background
I shoot RAW (DNG) and my camera is currently set to sRGB mode.I use Lightroom 5 only. I am currently debating whether I should use sRGB or Adobe RGB. I do post to the internet (social media and my website) but my primary focus is on fine art prints. My printing is done by a professional lab offsite (in America right now) and I am currently looking for a new lab that prints on Fuji Crystal Archive. I am quite new to color management, but have purchased a Colormunki Display calibrator and am buying a new 24" monitor specifically for photography (looking at Asus PA248Q and Dell U2410). If I decide on staying with sRGB, I will buy the Asus. If I move to Adobe RGB, I will buy the Dell. Questions
In my situation, what do you guys think is best for me: sRGB or Adobe RGB?
If I buy the Dell U2410, how will I be able to edit my old images when camera was set to sRGB? Or does it not matter because I was shooting RAW?
With the Dell U2410, how would I be able to edit for the web? Keep one version of the digital image for print and one for the web?
Does sRGB and Adobe RGB really make a difference at the end?

I'm looking to replace my laptop for a desktop and a chromebook, as everything I do, aside from photo stuff, is now on the cloud. For the desktop, I would just be running Lightroom, Crashplan, Calibration Software etc. and it would be hooked up to a 24" monitor. I have been searching for the best one for quite a while, and have found that a mini PC may be the best option. Small enough to hide behind the monitor - but are they powerful enough to run Lightroom? I would pretty much be running Lightroom alone - everything not related to photography I would uninstall. This is what I've been looking at:
HP Pavilion Mini Desktop - Intel® Core™ i3-4025U with Intel HD Graphics 4400 (1.9 GHz, 3 MB cache, 2 cores)
Intel NUC D34010WYK - Intel Core i3 4010U with 8GB RAM that I would add (2 cores, 1.7 GHz)
Which one would be best, or does anyone have any other suggestions? I really don't want to deal with a full size desktop, especially considering I am just running Lightroom, but I am open to anything. My budget is $550 CAD including tax.

I contacted Tamron directly...they said that "the difference is only cosmetic" and that there "is no functional difference between these lenses".

Yes, photography is an art...if you, as the photographer, decide it to be. If you are photographing purely to document an event, a crime scene, a landscape etc., then absolutely not. However, the way you approach and photograph an event, a crime scene, a landscape etc. can very well turn it into an art. ---------- Post added 09-03-14 at 11:21 AM ----------
I believe the complete opposite.

No, the one I posted with the gold ring is not model #F004. It has an aperture ring and totally different design. It is also not made in the Pentax mount.

They both have the same name and box...Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro. I don't believe this is the case, as I don't believe Tamron makes the same lens with stabilization for Pentax.

In the images above, you can see that one of the lenses has a gold ring and black text on it and the other has no ring and gold text. Same lens (Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1). What is the difference between the two lenses? Are they the exact same optically? Why does one have a gold ring and the other not? I'm looking to buy one used today, but it has the gold ring and I don't know if that is a problem.

The first two were taken at Elowah Falls. The third was Ponytail (Upper Horsetail) Falls and the forth was the Oneonta Gorge.

Thanks for all of your suggestions and explanations.
I will continue to learn to use Lightroom more efficiently, and hopefully it will solve some of the problems.

As I have said, just because Lightroom seems to slow down tremendously when I keep my photos in the program.
Also, if I did keep them in, I would eventually have hundreds of thousands of photos, which are hard to sort through in the "All Photographs" section. I don't know how else I would view them.

Thanks. That is very useful information for me. Is there any way that I can save the script so that I do not have to keep the image in Lightroom? I take thousands of photos a week, so it gets overloaded and eventually slows down.

I started with a RAW file.
For some, I used Nik Define. When I edit a copy of a photo through Nik Define. I usually edit a copy with a resolution of "300". Should I do this differently because I guess that won't work for every print size either?
I removed the photos from Lightroom so cannot reconfigure any settings.

I am using Lightroom, but would be willing to install (reasonably cheap) software for this purpose.

Okay, so would I be able to change those dimensions now that I have already set them?

Hi,
I have saved many EDITED images as 72 PPI Tiffs on my computer. I have no other copies of those edited image, except for the original file. Will I be able to change the PPI on these TIFFs, so that they will be suitable for printing as small as 4x6 and as large as 26x36? Or should I re-edit all the photos and save them another way?

How do you make edits to a copy at full size? Do you save it as a certain format? How would you do it in Lightroom?
