I find that when I feel down it makes me feel better to do something nice. Lately I have been taking the pictures of the dogs at the pound in order to help promote them to find good homes. Nothing makes you feel better than putting a pitbull in a flower headband!

I love the vivid color and crispness of detail.

It can be a real challenge to get some of them to sit still enough for a good shot, but this guy was amazing.

I take pictures of the dogs at the Mahoning County Dog Pound in Youngstown, OH. I like to try to walk them in the neighborhood and get their pictures in unusual places. It seems to me that the traditional 'pound pictures' tend to make the poor pups look like inmates. I'm getting better with Photoshop, though I'm still no expert. This is my favorite picture of a pound dog so far; Kirby was a great model, and he was rescued after only 1 day there!!! Used Pentax K-X 12.4 Megapixels Digital Slr Camera Body Black |

I'm sticking with Pentax. I've never picked up another camera that felt so right in my hands, and I've never seen another brand with such intuitive controls. I like my gear just as it is, and I don't want anything else. I've had my Pentax film cameras since 2000 and my K-x since 2009. Just when I think I know everything about them I dig out the manuals, and find something new to experiment with.

In a strange twist of fate, my mother in law gave me a belated birthday gift last night. It is a shirt made by the Mountain company of Keene, New Hampshire. Sadly it is NOT the 3-wolf shirt. Instead, it is a totally rad eagle riding a motorcycle in front of an American flag, purchased from Wal Mart for $1. I am hopeful that even without wolves it may still be powerful. Fingers crossed!

How about a sister theme to the 'Fearless' campaign...'Location, Location, Location'. Someone at the beach boogie-boarding, and our Pentaxian right there alongside in the water, off-road competitions, and our guy/gal right there in the mud alongside the ATVs...etc

I work at home doing medical transcription ( so I'm alone all the time hearing about terrible illnesses and tragedies). I also suffer with SAD. A few years ago I was given an Ott light by a family member who no longer wanted it. I'm not sure what exactly this light is made of. I think it's supposed to mimic daylight...anyway, I LOVE that thing! It makes me feel content when I have it on. I've never priced them, but I can say for sure if anything happens to it I will replace it immediately.

Amusement park would be good. There are always those kids at the bottom of the log ride/flume waiting for the car to come by and soak them. Our Pentaxian could be there waiting to get soaked too.

'Tithonus'. Season 6/episode 10 is another good one with a photography theme. Too bad the guy uses Nikon :-(

I love the older episodes. I saw one of the first ones when they started carrying cell phones...I had forgotten how huge they used to be! I'd love to know if you find that ring tone. I seriously considered the Law and Order theme as a ring tone, but since the actual show is on so much here, I might not notice an incoming call.

Wow! I spent some time reading the wolf shirt reviews and was literally LOL'ing. Has anyone checked out the reviews on Tuscan Whole Milk. One was written in the style of Poe's 'The Raven.' excellent. My faith in humanity is slowly being restored.

Different stretchy guy, I guess. 'Squeeze,' I think. I'm pretty sure the Luke Skywalker episode is 'Small Potatos.' you've got me all excited to watch them all over again. Watching 'Paper Hearts' now.

Two more of my favorites are 'Field Trip' and 'The Goldberg Variation.' I think they are both interesting and well done.

Was the elastic guy the one who impregnated a bunch of girls in town? Looked like Luke Skywalker to one girl? That was pretty funny.

You're right photolady, they are definitely not on PPG. I just looked at some of the photos there. Wow! Some great stuff on there. But I think there are some really fabulous pics here on the forum to rival theirs. I don't think my technique is on their level, I just love to play with my K-x! :-)

Please forgive my ignorance, but I don't know what that means. In my neck of the woods PPG means Pittsburgh Paint and Glass.

I've been doing a lot of photography in cemetaries lately and ran across this beauty. I swear I did nothing to stage this, it was a nice sunny day, and the thing was CRYING!!!
