Well,
Out of frustration, I put in auto focus, pushed the button down and then lightly tapped on the bottom of the camera body with a screw driver handle, it took a picture.
It now takes pictures.
Is the button contacts dirty ?
?

Nope,
Tried it several times.
Even took batteries out, cleaned contacts, reinstalled, tried all above ideas 2 more times.
Will focus fast and clear, will not take a picture, shutter will not open and close, does not even make a sound like it is trying to do something.
Anyone else ?

I only have the one lense.

Yes,
Took lense off several times, cleaned contacts each time, adjusted ring to A both times, as stated it auto focuses perfectly, which I assume means it is makeing good contact, the shutter will just not open and close when button is pushed ?

Hello,
I deceided to go old school and use my 12 year old ZX-30, It has sat for 6 years,but it turned on, the battry symbol flashed , so I put in 2 new batteries, there was 5 pictures on 24 exposer film, took 2 pictures fine, then it quit takeing pictures.
Top lcd shows correct information, lense is on "A", picture type dial on left top of body, turned to each setting, with corresponding information showuing on lcd top right and inside viewfinder.
Pushed the film rewind thinking maybe it was bad roll and was stuck, inserted new roll, film advanced to 1st frame, and camera will not take picture.
Push button down half way, and lense will auto focus perfectly.
I can see through view finder, took lense off, cleaned the contacts, checked mirrow, it lifts and drops back into place perfectly, top foam looks like new, is not sticky, broke, correded ect ????????????
Not sure what to do next ?
It does not make any noise, like a gear is stripped or the shutter is jammed, but it auto focuses FAST and sharp ?
Anyone have any ideas ?
