Nice pictures mate !

I still havent had the chance to try the MW, I only had some Stars night under moonlight.
I've tried different exposure for foreground and the sky, and also I tried the astro tracer for longer shots (about 40 seconds to 2 mins) but results were inconsistent.

On the following image it's a composite of 2 shots, foreground is /f8 and 5 mins and stars is /f2.8 and 20 sec.
I forgot to raise ISO, so here Im at ISO100.

Exposure blended with ON1 photo 2018.

Getting back from a gig, I've been using the Pentax 70-200mm extensively.
I was setting the Camera to top @ISO 4000, and I mainly shot at /f3.5 and 1/200sec because stage light was not that bad on this venue. Well there was a video crew filming the concert so in this case the Light technician was pretty strong on the lighting, great!

Theses with 50-135mm, the Sigma 70-200mm was on repair. All shots from the pit, the Sigma @70mm would have been too long anyway.

Wonderful images here mate, congrats!

I've been using the IRIX ND 1000 filter the other evening to achieve car lights effects.

And this other image is from a trip a couple months ago, I wish I had the polarizer back then :)

Looks like a great MW lens as well, super image Riseform.

I've been playing around with the flare effect this lens gives when shooting straight at the sun.

This is a good example of some nice flare, really obtrusive . but yet produce some nice effect on the image.

Some other try-outs :

Wow....it seems you're a bit nervous.

Im a member of this board for the last 6 or 7 years, subscriber and even a contributor. There was a time where I was checking the Pentax forum every day, now theses days are gone because not enough free time to spend on computer related stuff.
Tell me where should I ask then ?

I dont see me as being agressive at all, Im just trying to get info from the best place on earth about Pentax upcoming stuff...
Chill man, I LOVE PENTAX.

I've been using the 80mm Macro pretty intensively since I bought it, it's a great lens for sharpness but also has a great bokeh.
With the Srping kickin in in Europe of course I've shot some flowers!

Hi all,

Went back from a trip in Cambodia, had to travel light but still managed to take the X-T3, 16-55m, 10-24mm and 55-200mm + a set of ND filters and Tripod.
This was not a trip focused on photography

The only situation where my Pentax K1was really missing was Astrophotography, I tried on one occasion with the 16-55mm and the result are not that good.

But for most situation I was very happy shooting the Fuji X System once more.

Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
X-T3 and XF16-55mm @F11 ISO160 - 60 seconds.
I got out of subway when I saw the colors in the sky, ran to that spot and in a minute the camera was on tripod, ND filter attached and ready for a 50 seconds exposure. Glad I was carrying my camera bag today when commuting.
BTW I used some GOBE filter set for the first time on this image. They are relatively low priced and I think the quality is great for the price. The 3 filters set has a nice box and a smart way to keep them attached when not on camera.

You're getting up to speed with your Fuji Gear Christopher !
Wonderful pictures with the LeRolls touch :D
Congrats.

Always difficult to post pictures right after yours lol !
This one is from a Shoot held right before theses musicians went on stage at the Blue Whale in Los Angeles.
I just set a Godox AD200 on a softbox, took my 50-140mm @F4 and ISO160, had a very limited time, shot a couple images and voila!

It's been great really. Super portable and after about a year of regular use I would recommend that flash unit.
Coupled with the XPro Fuji version it is very reliable since I updated both firmware.
Sometimes in TTL there is issues with wrong metering and then wrong flash compensation but it's pretty rare.

It's otherwise rather consistent, I use it in manual mode mself as there was no TTL support for Pentax up until recently.
I had a couple weddings where it really shined outdoors.
Very good recycle time, instant as long as you're at or below 1/4 of power, about 1 sec below 1/2 power and a couple seconds at full power.

I do think a more powerful version might be better for your outdoor shoots though, check AD400 or AD600.
I was thinkin about buying a second one, coupled with the double AD200 adapter, for my outdoor shootings.

Just came back from L.A, had a lot of fun there shooting concerts (photo and video) with the X-T3 and either the 50-140mm or 16-55mm. Great combo.
I took some time to shoot landscapes a little bit as well.
The long exposure was taken with the 10-24mm /F4, the Pier shot with 50-140mm/F2,8 and the Parking sunset handheld with the 16-55mm /F2,8.

MCK PROJEKT - Live concert shot with Pentax DSLR's (almost exclusively)

Hi all,

I've been recording video concerts for a while now, usually with Sony or Panasonic dedicated video cameras.
Sometimes I throw a pentax DSLR (K3 or K1) if I need more angles, and I've also shot interviews with all my Pentax DSLR's.

A month ago I was asked to shoot a concert but I had no time to borrow or rent gears, so I went with only Pentax DSLR's and one Gopro, all my available gear that day.
One K3 was used as the Wide angle shot, with the Pentax M-28mm /f2.8 lens. Shot wide open.
One K3 was with the Pentax 24-70mm, shot at /f4
One K1 was with Pentax 70-200mm, mostly shot at /f4 as well.
Gopro on the percussion side and 2 Zooms audio recorder, one right in front of band, one near the sound operator. I made a basic soundboard mix with one of the Zoom as well.

the main issue was manning both front cameras at the same time AND restarting the Wide angle K3 every 25mins, it was really difficult to move from front to back of the venue, but the gig spent only a little more than 1hour, so only 2 restarts ;)
I was shooting manual mode in video, adjusting AF on the go on both cameras, that was deep !

The main issue is the low bitrate, another issue is that AF is difficult to achieve when zooming the cameras, therefore I used only non moving shots.
Well if you're interrested here is one of the 3 videos I made that night.

Just received my X-T3, now waiting for the 10-24mm to arrive.

First thing I noticed when I took my first picture is....EVF quality! this is a nice upgrade from the X-T20, I confess I like this EVF, the fact that the EVF is a little farther from the camera body allows my nose to fit

I quickly tried the AF with the kit lens, seagulls, BIF etc...this is ridiculous  I am blown away, what an incredible AF system.
My settings were Custom AF setting #5 (erratic moves), AF-C, Boost mode and 11fps mechanical shutter.

Then, went to the skating park, took 2 series of dudes flying over stairs straight at me, strong backlit. ISO1600 1/1600 and this time AF custom setting #2 (tracking mode), 11FPS...all in focus
For a second when I was looking at the images on my computer I thought it was too easy to be true.

Now, here is the major upgrade for me. Face detection.

This was THE feature I was really enjoying on my X-T20 but this new camera has gone to the roof with the Eye tracking / face detection system...this is really stunning.
I tried under various conditions, daylight, darkness...and this is super efficient. The only thing you have to take into account is the distance (remember my kit lens is 55mm at the longest) where it tracks the eye, the acquisition distance is not that far, I would say about 15-20 meters in daylight, about 8-12m in darkness (like really dark). But still an incredible feature and I would say a game changer to me.

I had a concert shot yesterday, brought the K1 + 24-70mm (small club) and the X-T20 with the 27mm /f2.8 and the Face detection was a big plus, that's simple I couldnt believe it when I reviewed the shots afterwards. I was not able to use Face detection all the time, due to light condition and very fast moving subjects from time to time but this is something Im looking for on the newer camera body.

I can't wait to shoot more this camera, looking forward doin some video stuff as well.

I going to try the X-T3 next week or so, Im very curious about this new camera, especially his AF system and the IQ.
I need to check the video side as well, the No IBIS is a major concern here.

I'm looking for an hybrid camera, that shoot stills and video, and this seems like a great camera for that. As far as I can see there is either the Fuji or the Sony A7 III, but the last one is quiet more expensive.

Anyway, here are a few shots taken today with the X-T20 during a Manga Exhibition.
I went with my daughter, only grabbed the small Fuji Camera and once again was really pleased by the IQ.
I wish I brought my K1 and 24-70mm though.

There was lots of pro photographer there, being able to shoot people that are super cooperative is really nice plus this fair had a pretty nice press coverage, and that usually brings photographers along.
All of them were shooting Full Frame Canikony with mainly Godox Light system (the stacked AD200's is really popular), saw a bunch of Sony camera and I noticed the video DSLR's on Gimbals were almost exclusively Panasonic's GH5.
