Thanks, that's interesting. I didn't know that there was even a chip to detect OEM batteries. BTW, I've had Pentax since 1966. Bought my 1st in Vietnam. Always liked them.

Thanks for the input. I've used several 3rd party batteries on my K-50 & K-10D. Had good luck with them. I was curious about using them on my K-70. Guess I'll find out! ---------- Post added 01-31-20 at 09:45 PM ----------

Thanks for the reply, like I said, I've used off-brand batteries in my K-50 & they worked out well.

I have used batteries for my K-50 I bought from Amazon (D-DI109) without any problems. Are batteries that are purchased without the Pentax name (D-LI-109) ok to use on the K-70? :)

Hello, I recently encountered this "dark exposure problem" w/my K-50. I've tested the camera & put my lenses on my older K-10D (they work good with the K-10D body). You mentioned you bought the K-3II, so I'll have to do some research on which body works for me. I'm glad I found your post on this, thank you, Paul

I have the K-10 body. And I use manual lens on it a good deal of the time. Never had a problem, turned the dial to "M", "M" focus & I could adjust the shutter speed by using the front dial & adjust the f/stop manually on the lens. No big deal. But, today, I turn the dial to "M", "M" focus but it will not let me adjust the shutter speed. The "f/stop" flashes on the display panel. If I put the lens that came with the camera on, I use the "M" to change everything by hand. Does anyone have an ideal what may be the problem? Thank you in advance. :(
