Chill dude, my k10d and k7 shutter died last time. I did also wonder of jumping ship. After some checking, it was my lens which destroyed both of the shutter. Just take it to repairs.

So basically youre saying 16-50 is the better choice? :D
Thanks for the respond.
I have a FA 50/1.4 and flash. Im kinda wide-loving guy. 28mm wont be good for me. Furthermore in Malaysia, weddings ceremonies are held in houses, so wide is a must. Just that, im torn between these two lenses, one is wider but f3.5, one is 16mm but dude its a DA* and F2.8 (bokeh).

:) Hai. Im into wedding photography. Newbie. My first job ive used a sigma 10-20mm (friend borrowed). Love the wide view. However the distortion at corner is horrible at 10mm. I own a pentax 16-45 f4 lens.
It is time for upgrade. But im torn into two choices.
Pentax DA* 16-50mm f2.8 or
Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 HSM.
Does 16mm enough for wedding purposes? Does the DA* have a good IQ?
Do F2.8 really makes a different in lowlight condition compared to F3.5?
Need wedding photographers opinions. Thanks.

the shutter curtain in not move down. when i set to "Sensor Cleaning". the sensor is covered by the shutter curtain.
it puzzles me which may cause this problem. impossible shutter died on both camera suddenly. must be either the lens or memory card causing it.

Im using Pentax 16-45mm. No sensor cleaning.
Yeah. Looks like it. Tried frcing it down on my k10d. Succeeded but when taking pics again. The shutter will again be jammed.
I dunno. I thinking the culprit maybe the memory card. :ugh:
I dont think so. Im using the Pentax 16-45mm Only. And pentax Fa 50mm f.14.
Later i will post some examples of the pictures. Thanks for the responds guys

Yes. :ugh:
One thing ive noticed is that, in both bodies, when i put the "Sensor Cleaning" on. I can see both sensors are covered with some kind of black layer. "Window`s blind" look alike.
It looks like that things is stuck onto the sensors.
Anyway to manually released it?
Btw, what do you guys think the main cause of this prob? The lens or the sd card?

:( First time posting here. PLease bare with me.
Last two weeks my k10d broke down. First it was half black half coloured picture. After that, only black blank images were produce.
Now, i just bought a second hand k-7.
All good for 3 days, suddenly just now, the same thing happened. The hell!
Live view all black.
I used the same card n lens during both incidents. Swapped cards n batteries still the problem is there.
Help me! Ive tried reflashed the firmware in k10d. To no use. And i doubt it would do good for k-7.
Pentax have failed me twice. My wedding job is next week. :(
