Will the LCD display also be of monochrome? Why waste a colour LCD panel :-)

I use this NATX K9 Camera Bag - Elephant Grey - NATX Bags model. What I did was to ask the manufacturer owner (a wildlife photographer himself) to give two vertical separator. The 560 goes between those separators. And there are enough space to carry a few bodies+lenses, laptop also. And this case goes into most of the airline cabins without any issues.

Any chance the DA 560mm f5.6 will be supported?

One change which I use a lot is to have $MAKE/MODEL in the import module. This helps me in file management

Thanks. My tech guy charged $10 (INR 800) to fix it. Since AF was working even in broken state, he just had to put it back together and screw the barrels shut.

News update.
The lens is fixed and functional. Yet to take it out for birding but sample shots of nearby trees and plants are just fine as before.

Very interesting design there. Though I feel it will be difficult to carry it by holding the tripod foot only, right? Not much space to squeeze the fingers between barrel and foot. it looks like it.
I did think about the same and felt that the design of the 250-600 lens foot is better than the original for 560

I don't own a K3iii but from what I have read, I would love a new model with larger buffer for sure.

I hope not. Before the technician took the lens, I could just hold the pieces and I was able to do Autofocus and take pics 😀 ---------- Post added 28-11-21 at 08:24 PM ----------
I took off the tripod foot before giving to the technician. There is no way one can flip it reverse. The screws are like that. I did talk to a friend who can machine a foot that is more like the FA250-600 (triangular one). Didn’t get time to do that with the covid situation

Though I love the 560 images, the ergonomics is a compromise. My long barrel makes the hand holding a strain. So, a monopod at least is a must.
If I am buying now, I will go for 150-450 or totally skip the Pentax offering.
Time and again I have seen the images from 560 out shines my friends' gear. (200-500, 150-600, ...) and many times as good as 500/4 (Canon)
If you are fine with Pentax, then go for the 560 as this is one serious birding lens.

I think the arca swiss plate (i had a 170mm plate on my lens) had come loose. This is the 1st time it happened (loosening of plate).
Typically I put the lens strap around my neck. On that day, I forgot to do that :(

It was with great expectation that me and some friends planned for a trip to the state of Rajasthan in India. To a place called Desert National Park. The target is to photograph Great Indian Bustard (GIB) in wild. I carry the 560mm lens mounted to my K3 and mounted to a ball head on my monopod. I was walking towards to shoot a vulture on a fence, when suddenly I felt the monopod become very light followed by a pop sound. My heart broke when I saw my favourite lens lying in two pieces. Some how the mount got loose from the head and fell from a height of about 2 feet on to the soft desert soil/sand. I quickly picked them up blew away the sand sticking to the barrel and stored it away until I returned home.
Though my wish to see GIB was satisfied, I couldn't put the 560 to use to get some nice shots.
The lens was acquired new in 2018 locally. Over a period of time, the barrel started having some flex. Like, when you pick up the lens with the tripod mount, there is very slight movement of the barrel between the different segments.
On returning home, I could see some screws were loose and were rattling inside the barrel. I hope these screws didn't scratch the elements during transportation.
I also noticed that these screws had small discoloured end. I think, only this small part of a small screw was holding the barrel segments together.
Attached the pictures.
I am going to talk to my local camera mechanic to see if he can fix it. Else I need to send the lens to Mumbai (a few hours flight from my place - Chennai).
Wish me luck.
