And almost never capture "the decisive moment."

I would just say that to my mind, the Q is spiritually linked to the Contax G series. Individual. Unique. Aimed at the Highest-Common-Denominator.

Perhaps J. Peterman? Or the pricier J. Powell line? Zing also makes neoprene pouches that would protect in pockets.

You could also find a "travel" jacket with many buttoned and zippered pockets. Since the Q items are so small, it wouldn't be all that bulky or heavy.

Much appreciated! I think the Q will turn out to be absolutely perfect for my particular needs.

Olympus started with the E-P1, continued with E-P2 and E-P3 on the high end. And then added two lower-priced levels in the same family. With more primes coming, Pentax should have a high end line with Q and lower with zooms & Q10.

The Q was conceived as a premium item of high quality and as might be expected, was quite pricey when introduced. The Q10 is another in the series, but not a replacement as it is plastic rather than cast metal, and features a zoom instead of the tiny prime. I would think a "Q2" sometime down the road would be introduced when major changes are available.

I'd choose a small Billingham bag -- black canvas & black leather. Or an even pricier Fogg.

For me, Q represented Quality first and the Quirky second, but surely the reverse would be likely to increase sales. As a longtime OM system fan, the numbering system for Q might well follow with single digit meaning high-end and double digit entry-level.
