This was taken back in June. It was shot from Sunnyside Beach on the west end of Toronto as a storm cloud was forming. I processed it in Lightroom and cropped some of the top and left portions of the sky and clouds.

I took this from Centre Island using my K5, M 28mm f3.5 and a 10 stop B+W ND filter. Not my sharpest lens, but I love the FOV and something about the rendering draws me to it for landscapes.
Hope you enjoy!

Jim: I figured some type of Photoshop was in order. I definitely need to add to my PP tools at some point.
Schraubstock: I didn't mind the blue when it was less contrasty, but looking at the punched up version I posted, I'm not a fan. I like yours quite a bit.

I haven't been using the M 50mm f1.7 that often lately since I prefer my 28mm and 35mm FL, but I must say that I'm often surprised with how amazing it is!
I think this was taken at f11 or f16, 25 sec. exposure.

Thanks for the feedback to the both of you!
Jim, I really wish that sign wasn't in the scene, but knew I couldn't avoid it when setting up the shot. Unfortunately, I have no clue how to even go about removing an object from an image in such a busy area. Any tips/tools are welcome. I agree that I could probably trim a little (more) from the top and left; I had already cropped the original somewhat.
Flash, I understand that colour can be tricky from one monitor to the next. Mine isn't calibrated either, so I could be seeing the image incorrectly for what I'm trying to do, which makes getting feedback even more subjective. Having said that, since there was a low lying mist that evening I was trying to keep the contrast/colours more subdued and cool, but perhaps it could use a little more contrast and punch. As for the placement of the tree, you're probably right that it may have benefited from being to the left of the cityscape and I think there was room for me to set up that composition, it just didn't strike me at the time. One thing that I need to practice is seeing my subject from different angles than the one that initially strikes me; I tend to find a composition I like and then leave it at that.
I've altered my original with all suggestions in mind (minus sign removal), so let me know if you see any marked improvement.
Thanks again.

This is my first time posting for feedback/criticism on a photo. I typically will just add to my flickr and 500px accounts, but am looking for more direct, constructive feeback.
Thanks in advance.

Hmmmmm. I did use the "Insert Album Photos" option, but it didn't work. I just set up my account so maybe there's some quirkiness because of that?

Hey there Pentax Forums community!
I'm new to photography; having only been serious about it for about 2 years. I decided to jump into the Pentax pool when I purchased my first dslr (a K5) in January this year and couldn't be happier. I've been leeching boatloads of photographic knowledge from this site since I found it and figured it was about time I joined the fun.
Anyway, hope to continue learning, discussing and sharing everything photography and Pentax.
Cheers,
Steve
