Just got my K-3 and so far so good. I ran off about 400 pics at a concert last night and I have two model shoots over the next two days. :)

I took this portrait last year with my K5IIs & 43mm Limited. It's still one of my favorites. :)

Hey guys! Long time no post!
I just wanted to share a good experience I had with the US Ricoh repair team.
I damaged my 43mm 1.9 and I sent it to Ricoh in Arizona for repair. They did an AMAZING job on it!! They made it barnd new for me. I believe the lens is even sharper now after the techs went over everything!! I highly recommend their services!!
I'm considering sending them my kit lens to go over it and hopefully get that one back better as well!!

I found it odd that the general belief for sunlight is 5500/5600k but the K5IIs daylight setting is 5000K.
I have a shoot with a girl tomorrow. I think I'm going to try setting the camera at 5600k with my speedlights and see what happens. I'll post some results as soon as I have a chance to go through them.
Thx!

I did an interesting experiment today with my K5IIs. I went though all the pre-sets in the color menu and checked what the corresponding actual temperatures were in Lightroom. Here is the results: Daylight - 5000k Tint +15 Shade - 7850k Tint -1 Cloudy - 6000k Tint +2 Daylight Florescent - 6100k Tint +46 Daylight White Florescent - 5050k +35 Cool White Florescent - 4350k +46 Warm White Florescent - 3600k +41 Tungsten - 2800k Tint +12 Flash - 5900k Tint +23 CTE - 4950k Tint +23
The temperatures average out to 5160k (minus the tint variations). I may try shooting at this setting for a while and see what results I get.
(5180 minus CTE setting)
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks!!!

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. When I first started I had the flash set higher but it looked too bright in the camera so I cut the power. Turns out that was the better exposure. All about learning right? Thanks!! :)

I got the YN-560 II and am very pleased with it. I'm already thinking about a second one.

My first time *really* using an off camera flash today. They came out pretty good but they look so 'flat'?

I have used reflectors but they usually seem to end up blinding my subjects.

So apparently this has been a problem/complaint for a while. So you actually need 2 of the Pentax flashes to do HSS. One off camera and one on. Way to screw your consumers, Pentax.

Is there a way to remote trigger an off camera flash shooting faster than 1/160? I'd like to try using an off camera flash outside for fill in for portraits.
Thx!!!
