Hi all. I'm working on a location workshop in Maine the week of October 12. Let me know if any of you are interested. We'll be working on landscapes with an emphasis on low light. I will have a 12 bedroom cottage for housing, one of the original cottages before the fire in Acadia Park. t's locate just outside Bar Harbor.

Several here in Cape and growing. We have converted some Canon and Sony users. Three of whom are professional shooters. The factory rep will be bringing "new" gear and a variety of other equipment.

I have a Ph.D. in Industrial Design. I know what you are trying to say. However, I still find the K01 quite a bit less than stellar design. I personally find it to look like a yellow brick.

Several things actually. IQ, Low light, use of legacy lenses, WR, etc. I'm saying that all of these items are absolute. What I am saying is that customer perception ios rock solid while facts change.
I'm not Pentax against the world. I also sell Canon and Sigma. In fact we sell quite a few of the canon Mkii and iii. However, some are making the switch based on their perceiv3d value of Pentax.

I hear a lot of statements like, I don't see any customers switching to Pentax. I own a camera store and have sold the new K5iis to a canon 5d mkII owner and one to a Sony owner. I also have sold three K30s to canon users. All of them sold their old gear and swithced due to features found in the Pentaxes not available in other brands. I have sold 4 K5 iis cameras in the last two weeks. I found it difficult to sell either of the mirror less cameras. Pentax is indeed garnering new devotees. Oh Yes, there are at least three professionals shooting Pentax exclusively in my town.

I would like to see security technology built into the camera grip to assure that no unauthorized person can use it. A system much like that found on some laptop computers. It should lessen the temptation of the casual thief to select a Pentax to steal.

I would like to ad a thumb print sensor to limit the use of my camera to me. It should limit the theft problem. I understand that if someone can build it, someone can defeat it. But it would tend to keep the honest people honest.

Higher pixel count can on a given size sensor and actually down grade the image quality at f11 or higher, due to defraction. So more mp does not automatically mean a better camera/image.

Has anyone noticed that Pentax just patented a new 60mm prime for full frame? The logical question is why would they do that? Unless they were i the process of creating a FF model.

I've read and browsed through the forum for some time and am just getting around to joining.
I've used Pentax cameras since the early 1970s. I still own a few from Spotmatic through K5.
