A walk in the park on her 14:th birthday. She is still quite vital but suffers from osteoarthritis and hearing loss. (Especially commands).
Can't be more "Pet of the day" than this.

Three photos taken from our bedroom window.
Suburbia can be like this. Much thanks to the wild apple tree that's growing there.

Hi
Years ago we had a couple of siamese cats. They loved the radiators. Even when it was to hot to hold a hand onto
more than a few seconds. Isolating fur I guess...

Hi
Just dropped in Samyang club thread. I just got me a 14mm and my K5 asks me for focal lenth. Should I use the nearest setting 15mm or is there a way to be more precise?

Yes, it was 1/1250s.
So, KevinR., if I use AF-C with 11-points as suggested and get a focus point that's beside the bird, won't I get a focus on what's beside/behind then?

Hi all...
Thank's for all your tips n' trix. It's not so often that we have a Osprey as a celebrity guest over the local park pond. Living in suburbia, Stockholm, Sweden, I'll follow Sagitta's suggestion. Planes and cars for practice.
baro-nite asked for exp. info. 1/1250 f. 5,8 @ ISO400.

Hi
Today I came across a Osprey (Pandion haliaëtus). Using one fucus point on a flying bird isn't easy.
If I miss the bird, my K5 first tries to focus on a cloud far behind. Then pulls all the way back to 4,6 ft on my
55-300 DA lens. And then back again... Sigh! So I decided to try out the 11 focus points setting. That seemed to do
the trick. No back and forth auto focus pulling trouble. I notised that the points lit up all around the bird but it looked o.k.
in the view finder. When I came home and had a look att my 254 pics, most of them where out of focus. I believe
that all out of focus ones are taken with a focus point beside the bird although it was right in the center of the frame.
Am I right? If so, how do you do it?

I have deleted hundreds of files with these two friends, Kiefer & Kira. To get them in the same frame, right light and focus, you need to be a sports photographer. I'm not.
But today I was lucky. The expression "They are like cats and dogs" has a different mening in our house.

Many fine pet portraits. Time for some action shots.
Kira is hunting field mouse, I'm hunting her with my K5 and the new SMC-DA 55-300/4,0-5,8 ED.

I don't remember but.. Wasn't last Pentax day in February too?
I think it would be better to have a 13 or 14 month cycle so I
eventually can take some photos when Stockholm is at it's best
and not it's worst. February is so cold and gloomy that I just
want to hibernate with a Irish coffe in front of the tv.

So we have to activate him every now and then.

Pentax serviceparter is not going to investigate this further.
My guess is that it´s cheaper to replace the whole thing than
having someone to go SCI on the thing.

The main pcb was replaced without further comment or cost.
So far, so good. I wonder if they just replaced it without really
knowing what was wrong. I think I´ll mail them. I´m curious. :hmm:

First.. Thanks to you all for participating in the "guessing game" regarding my problem.
* No battery grip.
* Many of the effected photos are taken out in the woods. No cell phones near by,
one or two miles from the nearest mast.
The camera can take photos without these patterns. So..
A - The fult is intermittent.
B - Triggered from an outside source. Radio, magnetics, solar bursts:)
C - Triggered by colors or patterns in the motif.

The example pic of the little rabbit was taken outdoors at a Café far from any transformers and such. I take my photos mostly oudoors. So if I´m not
under a UFO´s survelliance, thats not the case.
I´ve reformatted the sd card, tried a different card, battery, lenses...
This next example pic was taken with external flash and a manual Tokina SD 70-210 zoom. It was underexposed and corrected +1,5. The background is a no-pattern satin like fabric. You see no banding in their faces or on the guys shirt.
But her blue shirt, red hair, background and microphone stand are effected.
I have so many examples of this but I can´t see what the pic´s have in common
to cause this.
I will send it to service once again with a link to this thread. Hopefully with a comment from someone who really knows what the problem is.

The noise, or what you might call this distortion, was from day one. New to digital
I first thought this was because I´ve under exposed. This is not the case in the example pic. The histogram is just what my "teacher tought me".
Pentax service partner here in Sweden replaced the ccd and the comment on the service slip was: Replaced ccd. Adjusted settings. Compared with reference camera without deviation.
This picture is taken after the replacement but the problem stays the same. It can produce perfect pics but in light situations like this I get these ugly zig-zag patterns. And night shots? Forget it!
Change of ISO, Noice reduction on/off or any other setting that I can think of shows no result for the better.
I´m about to toss the camera into the wall and abandon my 36 years of Pentax.
Any ideas out there?

M80 and you all.
I´ve also noticed the decreasing number of posts. My excuse is camera trouble.
My K10D showed a lot of noice in dark areas. After a ccd replacement (for free !)
I now return to this forum. And while we´re talking about sinking... This little dog
was struggling to get up out of the pond while her master was shouting for her
from a distance. She was quite tired when my wife pulled her up. Kira just looked at her like... - What´s the problem?

I´m having the same thing. Zig-zag shaped strips so ugly that I´m almost turning Nikon...
Benjikan´s talk about the card got me thinking... So I formatted my card after two years of use.
My first impression is that the strips are gone or wery reduced.

Wery interesting. My K10d shows very much noice when it gets a little dark.
In the noise you can se a zigzag pattern that is just awful. Look at the side of the bookshelf, over the flower-pot. My daughters Ixus 80IS shows nothing like this in similar pics. Neither does my friends Sony. And that sucks! I love to take photos in natural light, at dawn, looking out over the city. But I just can´t get rid of that noice.
A bad CCD maybe?
