This is good advice. After shooting the eclipse in 2017, I wished I had two cameras set-up, one for before and after the eclipse and the other for the totality phase. I shot the totality at iso 100, my favorite exposure was at f/11 and 1/10s (shot at 300 mm because that’s all I had).

My three go-to lenses for portraits are smc PENTAX DA★ 55mm F1.4 SDM, HD PENTAX-D FA 77mm F1.8 Limited, and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 85mm f/1.8. All make beautiful photos on the K3 III.

When I bought my first SLR, I went to a local camera shop looking for a Rebel. He guy at the counter told me to read the K10D review on DPReview and sent me home to do my homework. I went returned the next day, thanked the sales guy, and bought the Pentax.

For value- I love my Tamron 70-300 f4-5.6 LD Macro 1:2. I use it more than my relatively more expensive Sigma 70-200 f/2.8

This is good advice. Watch your tilt... Once you're good and comfortable at keeping it straight, start playing around with tilt to intentionally mess with your perspective.

We love our Brera Gaggia machine. It's amazing. Our favorite beans/roasts come from Columbia River Coffee Roaster in Astoria, OR and Evans Brothers in Sandpoint, ID.

I'd like to thank the Forum and Adam- I'm the happy winner of the vintage SMC M 1:1.4 50mm lens from October's contest.
The lens arrived this week from Japan in excellent condition... it was packed super well and even protected by a Skylight filter.
Here are a handful of snapshots I took with it (and the K-3) that evening.
