Focus Stacking

No Pentax body does either focus stacking or bracketing. I believe many Olympus and some Panasonic bodies do both. Panasonic also has something they call "post-focus" in either 4K or 8K photo modes, depending on the body. I think the Nikon D850 has focus bracketing.

That being said, I find the K-3 to be a pretty decent body to shoot handheld focus stacks. I use a li-ion flash (Godox V850ii or AD180) and fire volleys of shots at continuous high while slowly moving the camera. I use Zerene to stack the shots. It works half decently, if I may say so myself, and even getting a two-shot stack makes a pretty big difference in DoF for macro. (I shoot mostly in the 1:1 to 4:1 macro reproduction range, BTW.)

I was lucky enough to cross this Snowy Owl today... It flew from a top of a barn to the top of a tree, where the moon filled the background.
I have to tell it's my lady that provided me the idea to position myself in order to cath them both in the frame... Thanks to my beloved! :-)

Sorry to hear about your issues with K-3.
What's your estimation of DA560 so far?

I'm pretty sure that there will be a K-3 successor. But Ricoh will release it a little later (not to overdose us with too many flagships during a short period of time).
And now the daydreaming part: the new APS-C flagship will be followed by a brand new 500mm f4.5 (with super-fast and super-silent screw drive) and 1.7x TC .

I found another shot of the lesser Yellowlegs on breeding territory in northern British Columbia. Many of us in North America see them on mud flats and beaches (and sewage lagoons!) when they migrate through. It's hard to imagine one sitting in a tree.
