I took various shots, highlighting different aspects of the eclipse, but this one illustrating the solar flares and loops is definitely my favorite.
I took this shot with my old manual Pentax 400-600mm zoom set at 600 and mounted on the K-70. I used 5 shots bracketed in full stops around a 1/2000 center.

Yes, I would expect that, however, the zoom ring near the lens mount does not rotate in any direction. It appears to be frozen at 400mm ---------- Post added 08-10-22 at 05:02 PM ---------- Hey!!! I just got it freed up!!! Good to go! Thank you very much! I didn't want to force it and break something without asking first.

So... If you shoot the boring/mundane/everyday in a creative way, will it still qualify as being boring and mundane?
Food for thought!

Picture of a wall outside a Rolex shop. Mundane made interesting through lens choice and lighting.

If the lens is sharp when shooting stills, great, one possible issue removed from the list... if not, however, then you might want to start by calibrating your lens first.

Wow, they're all great!
For me it boils down to 2,10 or 13 for various reasons... it's hard to pick one, but I had to go with #2

Seriously?
Any advantage is a good advantage, whether you use it every day or just once in a great while. I always prefer using the camera's viewfinder, but It sure is nice having this little extra feature there when you need it. I've used it on a number of difficult shots now, and would be hard pressed to buy a camera now that didn't have a similar feature. I guess I've been officially spoiled... LOL

Lots of typically beautiful shots to choose from, but this image really speaks the truth.

Here's a recent shot of mine...
Of course, it needs a little paint, maybe a few drivetrain components, a suspension system, electrical, interior, wheels, tires etc., you know... stuff like that. :D |

Maybe it's just me, but in these magnified images from the review, I see the Pentax as the clear winner here?

Pretty cool, and none to shabby! Great panning job!
Have you thought about using a slow sync flash effect for shots like this? ...Or possibly even a front or rear curtain sync effect?

Well, we seem to off to a good start here, nice shots from everyone... including the judge!
My current favorites thus far are Cat's ice sculptures and Barts "Rolling In" shot.
Hey G.T... I was thinking Lomo myself when I saw that image.... it's Really Cool!
Here's one of mine... This one was taken with my Pentax X70. It's an early morning shot taken at sea, 300 miles off the coast of Virginia. The shot was taken in February on the North Atlantic. Those little waves you see are actually 12-15 foot seas. I was 60-70 feet above the water when I took the shot. It was one of those "you had to be there" moments.

I was torn between two ideas for this one. One was a bit of challenge, while the other was quite simple.... I opted for simplicity. Okay... Let's just have some fun... It's ARTSY TIME! :D Take any image(s) you have (your own images) and get creative. Turn them into a painting, make them into a montage, whatever you like, just get creative! I'll start us off with a few examples here... A friend of mine, who lives several hundred miles away, is restoring a car. He sent me this image so that I could see the progress that he has made. I turned around, made a montage out of it and mailed it back to him as a new Desktop image for his Computer. Here are a couple of more examples quickly done up from P&S images of my car... Much simpiler techniques were used, just "click, click" really, but just as effective, perhaps even more so! Alright folks, so that's the challenge. It's time to let those juices flow... let's get playful, let's get creative! Show me what you've got. ;) |
