Of all the Fujifilm glass I had, I miss the 60mm the most. It has great bokeh, colour and is well and truly sharp enough

Agree. Now all we need is full reviews of everything that is coming out, with gear that they purchased, rather than waiting for the manufacturers to give them gear for a short period of time.
Although many would disagree, I also think that they should also do phones so we have a real and comparable sense of how they perform against dedicated cameras, good or bad (unlike what DXOmark now does).

Fair enough. For 135mm and a defined size of 2939x4409, It's 55-75mb/DNG dependent upon subject and associated small tweaks to cropping.
For MF, I did use TIFF. I was using an Epson flatbed and scanning at 2400dpi. File sizes (approx 16MP) were ~100mb.
In short, Vuescan software is still tab-organised with input, a preview scan, then crop and filter controls set, then a (context specific) output destination, which includes certain transparency and negative (e.g., Kodak) settings. I find that a scan preview is always required for transparencies due to exposure/ colour balance shifts if the edge of the film is exposed. Most of the time, the negative holder consistently held the film well (I have 4-6 film strip cuts).
Edit: Remembered another video I saw re: file size comparison and mention of Digital Negative Pro.
No affiliation with the guy, enjoy his work.

Hi Les.
I'm running my Konica Minolta Dimage 5400 Elite II with VueScan. I now run on Debian Linux and use Darktable for editing.
I switched from the Minolta software due to a Windows driver issue. I spent the better part of 2021 digitising my 35mm and medium format collections.
Your Nikon experiments are interesting. I would also recommend taking another look at Vuescan due to the updates and the available output options. Having DNG is really helpful for colour balance and calibration options (and is much more compact than TIFF).

Merry Christmas, All. Be well!
Thinking of the back country today (think either southern Kaimanawa or Ruahine ranges, pardon the smeary plane window).

The scans continue... Minolta Vectis S1 28-56mm, Wales, UK, 2002. Edit, Nexia F100, this was excellent film. Very similar to Fujifilm REALA, which I liked a lot.
