I am always, very much, in love with everything in the color of green. For instance green diodes, like this camera seem to have lot of. ;)

Another humble suggestion, is light copper metallic that isn't very similar to gold or so, but a color which nature is genuine and unmistakably copper. :)

Well. If the color red means HD coating, green stands for SMC coating, and gold marks DA lenses, then I would humbly suggest bluegreen, or maybe cobolt blue, as the color for lenses with HD coating.

Aha. Well, I guess that Ricoh had to chose some color to mark that it is a HD coating lens, I just wish it would have been some softer and more pleasant color than bright red. Why not start all over again, and show that the lenses with HD coating is the companys' finest (?) lenses by using the color gold? ;)

Why use a red ribbon around the lens? The color red is used already by Canon on their lenses. Is the reason for this deviation from the green on the lenses, that the logo for Ricoh is in red, and that the Pentax cameras soon will be called "Ricoh", and that Ricoh wants red on every of it's products?
Pentax is the only brand in the market that has a pleasant green color band on many of its lenses, why not continue the nice tradition?
Why not start using the rather unique and pretty pleasant color green more pronounced as corporate color for Ricoh Imaging Company?

Then we are at least two people who believes that Pentax should have some other company color than red, and that black and green are nice colors that could work well for Pentax.

Compared to red, I would prefer black as the color of "Pentax", in every context the company name was visible. If Pentax/Ricoh furthermore could combine that black color with green, it would be even better. There are already many camera and electronic companies that has red as their color, therefore Pentax could very well chose another one. Why not black-green-gold or something..? ;)

So do I, and I feel sorry for them. It's the same thing with sport, soccer or any other sport, the fans just doesn't have any emotional distance. Well, to return to the Ricoh/Pentax issue, I can say that I hope that this brand survives just för the weather sealed products. Any other feature that Ricoh/Pentax offer, you should be able to find in other brands. So, for me, the making of a really robust camera and lenses, is far more important than the company name printed on the products.

I don't care about the name on the camera. I just want good image quality, some nice features like Wi-Fi, and weater sealed houses and lenses. I couldn't care less if the camera house has "Pentax", or "Ricoh", in the front. This camera thing is not religion, at least not for me. I know what religion is, since I'm a church going Christian.

Interesting. Very interesting thoughts. Maybe Ricoh would be a better name altogether on all products, and why not start selling all the cameras from the Ricoh company via the Ricoh shops that are in place? At least in cities where there is no Pentax dealers at all. I don't care about the name on the cameras and lenses. I care about good imaging quality, and weather sealed products at competitive prices. Quality, price, and weather sealing is important for me, not the name.
