AE and AF lock function.
How many focal points you need in your camera to take perfect pictures? One is enough. Simple measure the light where you want it to be your reference point, lock exposure, focus there where you want it to be focused, lock AF, re-frame and snap:) For portraits I have AE and AF linked together under the main button and do the reading and focus on the eyes.
Best wishes to all participants and Happy New Year.

I have been thinking, thinking ....... and I still think but I think is the time to make up my mind.
First of all I would like to thank you very much to all who participated and submitted their entries. Personally I am not a big fan of competitions as these are good for horses;) Please, be aware that my judgement unfortunately is a bit subjective because all the pictures reflect to the subject therefore in those regards you all are winners. Combining the subject and the quality of photo itself/craft I have short listed the following: Elpolodiablo - parental love, Chti - A homeless person and his rat and Hattifnatt.
And the winner is .............. Chti with "A homeless person and his rat" picture. A fantastic balance of composition.
2nd Elpolodiablo (informally shall share the 1st position). Very good, B&W emphasises the subject even stronger.
Congratulations to Chti and all of you. Sorry that I am not going to give a feedback to everyone because my family awaits me.
All the best.

Well, I believe everybody experienced or witnessed that feeling. Love can be of many kinds e.g. between two persons, mother to her child, among family members, passion to music etc, etc. and can be represented or expressed by symbols. Therefore, for this week I have chosen the subject "LOVE" as I love photography;) How do you perceive "LOVE" symbols? Show your symbols!!!
My example - Together Forever - till we dry out
The fine print:
The Challenge will run until midnight next Wednesday , 29/10/2014, whichever time zone you are in.
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.
Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Thank you very much to all of you. I do not know what to say but definitely it is my pleasure to be the winner but even greater pleasure is to be a winner among so amazing competitors.
All the best to all.
To those who would like to experiment and get something similar, a quick guidance of the set up:
- A flash in remote mode,
- Two sheets of clear glass (make sure the sheets are thick enough)
- A camera (the best would be Pentax;)
- two chairs to support the glass sheets
Simply, put whatever you like between the sheets of glass, set the flash below (use diffuser for light homogeneity), expose and shot (tripod would help a lot).

I think the solution for it is very simple for Pentax, namely, there is a need for a FF camera with a APS-C mode as analogy to Nikon D7100 which has got a crop mode (now we could to it with pp cropping). If I am correct, 36mp FF matrix could give 24mp APSC therefore we could enjoy all lenses with one BODY:)
All the best

Perhaps, if Pentax does not want to bring FF then I cannot see why Ricoh would not;) the wolf would be happy and the sheep alive;) but there is one thing which bothers me, namely the converter. I read somewhere that it does not change the minimum distance from the lens, so I assume that the focal length somehow remains the same and the picture is enlarged only (and it is). Therefore, having e.g. DA ltd lenses + converter would work on a FF camera or even the FF camera would have a cropped mode as same as D7100 (I have got no clue why they brought that idea into the camera, the a la zoom effect is simple bollocks).
On Sunday I went to a shop and came across with a 35mm film, Fuji C200, I bought it, I borrowed Minolta 7000 from my friend and WOW, the view finder size killed me;) Last time I shot with 35mm camera, it was over 10 year ago, I think. So, stating that there is not much difference between (except the price) "FF" (i hate this nomenclature) and APS-C is simple wrong, wrong and wrong. APS-S view finder is like the spy hole in a door, "FF" like a french window and Mid Format, perhaps, a curtain walling:). I think we all lost something over the Digital Era; dig out your old stuff and look through and see the difference.

To be hones, whatever they do, I am going to enjoy my K5 and ltd lenses for long time. I love it for what it is and what it does but for those who already have some FF lenses a FF camera would be an obvious choice. For a while I thought that the new converter would be a transition for current lens line into FF, it would be a masterpiece, wouldn't it?;)

I like what you said. Simple, if we had FF Pentax, then we could make a full use of 31, 43 and 77 ltd lenses - is it not a sufficient reason to have FF? For me it is.
