Such a nice Rose ! Does the flare (shiny stars) are natural or added via post-processing ?

This couple of little egrets was taken in French Britany ("Marais salants de Guérande") during an 2013 summer evening.
These ponds provide a productive resting and feeding ground for many species of waterbirds.
The picture was shot with a Pentax K-5 IIs and a Sigma 150-500mm lens, mounted on a Manfrotto monopod.

Hello to all of you !
Using a very old lens (SMC Pentax-M 50mm), to choose 4 sec, I first set the best aperture on this lens (F5.6 in my mind) and did some test around the speed adviced by the camera (the green button is very usefull for this kind of lens). Usually, I take all pictures in raw mode and apply post-processing with Lightroom, this B&W conversion didn't change too much the original picture. I rather like post-processing than camera conversion itself thinking that I have a better control of the result, don't you ?

Hello Serx, thanks for your comment. I have chosen B&W to give an "timeless" ("intemporel" in french) status to this picture.

Hello guys and girls,
I am really pleased to join this forum which is one of my favourite ! Pentax user since 5 years, I discovered this brand thanks to the wonderful K10D model which I am still using before buying the K-5 IIs in the next few days.
I am doing mainly wild animal photography, landscape and travel, hoping to improve my skills by reading articles and discussion in this forum !
Thanks for the quality and the open-mindedness of this website (I am not polite, I am really honest about that).
