Went for a trip to the zoo with a friend that was visiting from Switzerland. As soon as I saw the lioness lowering its head towards the water, I got my camera ready and managed to snap this shot. Luckily this shot was good, the next few were not as impressive with the ripples in the water interfering with the reflection! I hope you guys enjoy this shot, let me know what you think :). |

First post in a long time! Have been away and then very busy for some time. I hope you guys like this share.
I saw this cheerful cheesemaker in a market in Wellington, New Zealand. He smiled at every customer and seemed like a very kind person. I snapped this shot while a person was making a purchase and I am so happy I managed to capture his smile during the exchange. |

I took this photo during my exam period at uni, I was outside the city library (Auckland, New Zealand) and I was just taking some random shots when I saw this man walking towards me. I thought he would make an interesting subject and I took the photo. In post-processing I made the photo look more like a painting and used some selective colour to make him 'pop'. Let me know what you think! :) |

I was walking to my next lecture at uni when I passed these little guys sitting on a faculty sign. I took a few steps back and captured this shot. Let me know what you think :). |

Our neighbour's dog, Geordie, came over for a play the other day. Shadow absolutely loves her, and their chases are very entertaining. I was studying in my room and only came out to get a few shots of them playing. I'll try and upload some more shots later, enjoy! :) |

Thanks for sharing your opinion! Yes, that's a sofa inside the gallery and I agree with you, it can be distracting, I will modify the image on my computer and try and upload the updated version. Thank you for the feedback! :D

Caught this man on the way to uni and he looked so authentic! From his footwear to his haircut, everything about him worked! He was very professional and after I gave him some coins, he nodded at me and then ignored the camera allowing me to capture this picture :) Enjoy! |

You are right, the horizon is marginally tilted to the right! Good eye! I will fix it on my computer, but since I am linking the photos from my 500px account and as I don't want to reupload the same photo, it will remain the same here. Thank you for your feedback! :)

These are some shots I took today; I decided to give b&w an attempt. These shots were kind of practice shots as I was trying a few things I read about street photography briefly. Tell me if you like any of them, and if you do, which one in particular. I don't think any of them are amazing, but it was fun practising aiming the camera at strangers and I am happy with my first panning attempt with the cyclist!
I did miss focus with the woman in red unfortunately but it's not as out of focus as it could have been so manageable to my taste! Let me know what you think :).
I couldn't take another photo because I felt rude when the woman saw me. What originally struck me with her was the fact she was sitting outside the art gallery, in quite an isolated area, and she seemed very proud and well groomed, a real lady I thought. Her red coat against the grey background and the fact she was so well dressed really stood out. She sat there and stared seriously across the foyer and I snapped this shot as she arranged her collar. Could have been a better photo, I know, but a photo is better than no photo! ;) |

Thank you for your very kind comment! :)
Thanks Paul! Yeah, it's interesting hearing the ideas other photographers have in terms of editing; I enjoyed the suggestions and gave them a go :).
You are more than welcome, I am glad it helped. I consider myself a knowledgeable beginner, but if I can help anyone else with what I do know I am all for it!
This shot was completely spontaneous; he looks as if he is posing for it, but he was actually across a busy city road and he happened to look at me and the camera. I think he was looking at my girlfriend after she took a few shots of him moments before and it captured his attention.

Got this shot the other night, I didn't spend as long as I wanted to post-processing it, but I think the result still looks good. I was very impressed with the in-body IS! I shot this handheld leaning on the wharf and the actual shutter speed was 1/3 (but the drop-down menu won't give it as an option so I chose 1/4); kudos to the Pentax engineers! Hope you guys like it :) |

Saw this man in his taxi waiting for people outside a hotel in the city. I liked how focused he was and I think he gave me a good pose for a shot :). |
