Thanks Peter, no time to follow your advice by now. But I will do and report. This just to express my appreciation for your help.

Hey Peter,
DNG doesn't work either. Lens is SMC PENTAX-FA 1:2,0 35mm SMC AL. The lens is recognized if mounted on K10D (DNG/PEF), not when mounted on K5 (DNG/PEF). The sliders are working both cases.
Best regards,
Klaus

thanks, I will study a bit how lensfun works. Still not clear to me why PEF from K5 differs from PEF of K10D. I was not precise in my post: if K5PEF is loaded the display says: ‘‘this RAW cannot be corrected‘‘, whereas with K10DPEF it‘s reading „select manufacturer and lens“
SP manual says as below, which I do not understand:
“This RAW cannot be corrected”
This message is displayed when distortion correction using this function cannot be performed on the selected RAW data.
SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro9 / 9 always displays optimal development results for some RAW data without using this function.
For this reason, automatic distortion correction using this function cannot be performed on such RAW data.
Best regards,
Klaus

Good afternoon dear forum user,
following issue I observe with my SP9pro: if images taken with the K5 are loaded to SP no lens profile correction is applicable. However, pictures taken with the K10D show the function active and applicable. Any advice how I can set / change this function in the software. The K5 is younger than the K10D so I would expect if working with K10D the function should work on the younger K5 as well.
Thanks and regards,
Klaus

I read through the forum a bit and found many answers. Sorry, I was lazy here. Looks like there is a permanent discussion on that points and depending on something the opinions vary.

Good Morning,
just read an article (Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ) about my new K10D were was said it has a very low dynamic range and also relatively poor resolution. I don't know whether this is a neutral source or not, but anyway it mad me a little bit disappointed. Of course I have to make pictures and judge by myself but what do you guys think. Is there an remarkable weakness regarding those issues.
Thanks and regards from Germany,
Klaus
