Welcome! A fellow Borneo person (Borneoan?).

I grew up in Brunei - and I think from your msg, you live in Sabah. That's a great place for the outdoors and nature photography.

Nice shots here!

Thought I'd share something different - a hive of wild bees in the tropical jungles of Brunei:

Was at the zoo with the local pentax club, and I enjoyed hanging out at the primate area. They have a neat free-ranging orang utan setup, and the orang utans can get pretty close to visitors.

Greyser,

Excellent catch! I haven't had any luck with KFs in flight yet, usually they show up as a blur in my pictures.

Chaos_Realm,

That shot looks like its at ground-level. Were you doing a leopard crawl? :) Maybe that's why he didnt see you until the flash :)

Pearsaab & Frogfish, Thanks!

Dane.Dawg, the framing of the sheep and eagle against the blue sky is very striking! Wish we had those blue skies here.

Wildman, that's a lovely hummingbird shot!

Was at a river in Bali a few weeks back. Got to see two kingfishers interacting.

First, I saw this guy.

Then it got driven off by a huge old one. I've never seen one that big.

King of the River

These guys were across a river, 20-30m away, so I had to crop quite a bit, even with the 300mm

Thanks for viewing.

Greyser, excellent shot of the duck! I love these colorful critters.

The light wasn't very good today when I went out, but did manage to find a male pink-necked green pigeon. Too high up in the tree for fine details, but still the bird colors are amusing.

Hi Greyser,

Thanks for the comments. It was taken in Singapore, but this green pigeon is found all over South-east Asia.

cheers,
Alex

Hi everyone,

Been lurking on this thread - wonderful photos and inspiration!

My first post here: K7 + Sigma 300/2.8 - a female pink necked green pigeon (the pink neck is only for the males).

Hi everyone,

The pictures here keep the mind control field strong. I submit two more :) Taken in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, braced against a wall using the K7's high ISO that I typically dislike. PP helped me like them better :)

Had the Sigma and found it large and hard to use. My copy also seemed to lack sharpness. Sold it and bought the 15. I'm not looking back :)

Hi Jan67,

Thanks for the link to Falk's comment. It's good to see that inbody SR for FF does not affect legacy glass.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, but enjoying the discussions.

I was wondering if older FF lenses provide enough FOV to work with shake reduction on a FF sensor. I recall reading an interview where the Pentax rep said that DA lenses could somewhat cover FF sensors because the APS-C sensors needed to move around when SR is on. In that case, perhaps legacy glass may not work so well with a FF that has SR?
