Yes, they were clean. I'm certain about this as I did check that particularly carefully. Unfortunately, I was on a trip so I didn't take the K-r with me. When I returned home I checked with it and the lens worked fine.

I did many shots of different things. All came out hazing like that. I deleted all other misty pictures and kept this one so that I can ask you guys. :)

Didn't they work properly with all camera bodies you have? In my case it worked with one, but didn't seem to get along with the other.

Ah ha, this might be the case. This picture was taken in Bangkok. It was super hot outside and freezing inside the exhibition hall. I'm curious! When I checked the lens I didn't see any condensation, the temperature change could still create that effect without any indication? And if that is the case, how do you fix it?

Hi jddwoods, thanks for your prompt reply. Other lenses worked fine on both K-r and K-5 and there were no filter settings in place. And it appears to me in the picture that it is not some sort of filter, it's more like a misty layer that coats the image. This just happens when I used the 18-55mm and K-5 combo. Not sure why...

Dear all

I've just upgraded from K-r to K-5. In one of the test shots, it looks like the K-r's lens kit doesn't work well with the K-5 body (the kit lens still works well with the K-r body). Specifically, there is a misty filter appears in the images, which I don't know why and what causes the effect (please see the attached shot). ;)

I wonder if you could help me with this! Any advice is highly appreciated. :)

Thanks

I took this picture when I was walking along Corong Corong beach in Palawan, the Philippines. Thanks to a storm, it had been raining heavily for a few days. There was not much to do but it was pleasing to see a striking sunset after the storm passed. :o

Many thanks for the comment, Pacerr. Finally someone looked at my photos :o
Yep, definitely I will experiment more, given thanks to all inputs to this thread now I know better about the effect, as well as key conditions I should consider to produce such kind of photo.

Many thanks guys for your kind help. Your info is really helpful, especially the bit about using the tele lens can produce similar effect. I need to play more with it to develop my intuition for this technique.

3D effect on MF lens

Hi guys

I have shot a few pictures as following using MF lenses on my K-r. I read somewhere in the forum that old lenses help bring 3D effect to the photos, can you please confirm if those are qualified as having such effect? People normally say the object stands out of the photo so I'm not sure if it can also be perceived as 3D effect.

I am responsible for my rose | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

My savings | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I've got those shots more by chance than having an adequate skill. I really appreciate if you can share any articles/ books that provide further information about this technique. :o

Many thanks

Issue shooting landscape photos

Well spotted, kcobain1992. I randomly picked that pic from a series of photos taken in various settings yet share the same result. The exif didn't appear in the normal photo viewer when I browsed to upload the pic so I'm sorry for making you guys confused. Yep, I can process this pic and improve it in lightroom. I just wonder what exactly went wrong with my setting at that time and as some as you guys suggested, I think I need to pay more attention on the metering mode.
Question about Nikon is a little tangent. ^^" The shadow casts over the above pic reminds me that pictures produced by Nikon somehow brighter than those produced by Pentax, provided that they are well taken. That's where I come up with the question. :)

@ Sveco: Thanks for your feedback. I think the result of the photo come from my setting whereby some point is wrong and I don't realize which one. I don't use filter while shooting and your suggestion of replacing the camera really makes me smile :)

@ matt: Can you please share with me the setting you would choose for such kind of shot? Many thanks.

Many thanks Adam. From your suggestion I think the issue would be the metering mode, as I occur the same result when I switch to Av mode. There are a couple of shots I try with a reduced shutter speed and they end up being overexposed.
Besides, in correct setting, my pictures seem to be a tad darker than those of my friend, who shots with a Nikon. Is that something normal that pictures produced by Nikon have brighter rendition?

Hi guys

Can you please help me out with this issue? I don't know why when I try to shoot landscape photos the results come out with a shadow as appears in the attached pic , though I shoot on a sunshine day with the light shines directly on the background of my picture. I try various settings but more often than not I get the same result :(

Any suggestions are welcome and many thanks in advance for your kind help.

Cheers. L.
