I unfortunately I had to move away from Pentax an the end of last year to upgrade to a Full Frame system. Still miss my K5...
This was shot on the 16th February 2014 at the seafront of my home town of Clevedon.
I chose a nice low point of view as I wanted to try to capture the misty water around the foreground rocks, it was quite a challenge to find the correct distance from the incoming tide to place the tripod as I wanted to avoid any camera movement by the sea as the tide came in.
I used my Nikon D800, Nikkor 16-35mm f/4 lens, tripod mounted and used a wireless remote with built in bulb mode timer.
I added a Hitech ProStop IRND 10-Stop ND filter plus a Hitech 0.9 (3 stop) ND hard edge graduated filter to hold the sky back a little.
240 Second exposure, f/11, ISO 100 @ 19mm

A European Long-eared Owl captured @ Tyntesfield (National Trust) back in November.
Had a play with isolating a single colour in Lightroom, fairly happy with the result…

My Lee filter holder and replacement HiTech Pro 100 10 Stop filter arrived late this afternoon, so out for a quick play. there was several people sat waiting for a sunset so didn't want to get in everyone's way. Bit of a shame as would have been nice to have gone the waters edge.

Visited the Stourhead estate & garden's today for my first attempt an trying to capture Autumn! unfortunately the sun didn't come out to play! This was taken while sheltering from the the rain under a Japanese maple tree...

I had wanted to try a LE of the jetty @ Clevedon with a stream of water gently lapping over the jetty complemented by a colourful sunset!
Unfortunately the sun dropped down behind the cloud’s and the tide was coming in thick & fast, not being brave enough to risk my camera & tripod vanishing into the estuary, I retreated back a couple of feet and ended up with this!

1st of 3 shots taken @ Clevedon Sea Front, while out having a play with my new lens! being the earliest of the three, the sun was at its strongest and has left this fab looking fire affect..
