Seen the k20d at amazon going for U$S 833.99. At that price the k20d is soooo tempting. My problem is switching from canon to pentax. Itīs hard to do that when you have some gear from another brand.

Remember that the 40D has focusing problems not all but a few alot of them and thereīs a lot of returns to customer service. Maybe the one you tested was one of the bad ones.

How about a k200d with da*16-50 and the da*50-135 good combination? Will i have any focus problems? Thinking on buying a k200d and those lenes or go for the k20d ,the da*16-50 and the 55-300. Really love the weather sealing in the lenes i live in a humed inviroment.

When i started with my first slr it was with a pentax and that was 9 years ago. I know my Xti isnīt a point and shoot camera and i know how to expose correctly parameters of the camera. All i do now for a correct exposure is to compensate +1 and i get a great exposure. The underexposure of the camera is a little bit to much something that the XSI dosnīt do, that iīve read.

I asked that question because i have a canon XTI which of course has underexposure problem and it's realy annoying. At the canon forums everybody says it's user error and not the camera, which of course everybody knows itīs a camera problem . You guys admit that it does subexpose which i think is not a problem but that pentax likes it that way.
Getting rid of my canon stuff by the start of next year to get the k200d or the k20d and a good da*16-50 lens.

Iīm about to make the switch from my canon xti to a k20d. But publicity is winning and iīm seeing myself buying a 40d which is not perfect. If you read the canon forums about the 40d it has mayor focusing problems and how about the famouse 99 error of death. All cameras are not perfect. All i want is to take good photos and that the camera respondes to what i want.
What really called my attention about pentax is the shake reduction and the weather sealing. Two things that canon and nikon donīt have on there lower end modeles and if you get any lenes with IS your going to pay a whole lot more for that.
Still donīt know what to do go for the big ones or go with pentax.

Iīm in the same situation which one? Now i have a Canon xti with a sigma 17-70 lens, sunpak flash, canon 430ex and battery grip. Which all will be on sale if i make a change to pentax. My first slr is a pentax mz-50 with a 28-105 lens and i have a original pentax flash to go with it. i was looking at the K20D but buying good da lenes to go with it just to much money i was wondering how the k200d would be like.
I live in argentina and my sister is coming from california to visit so she will be buy all the goodies for me. What really likes me is the built in shack reduction sistem that canon lacks. A 70 200 f4 IS canon lens is U$S1100 and the non IS costs U$S600. U$S500 more for IS thats ridiculas!
So i donīt know convince me K200D which iīll have money for good pentax lenes or the K20D and just one good lens??

Glad to be part of pentax forum. I was born in california now living in argentina for more then 20 years now. Always loved my pentax mz50 great photos. But reasons of economy canīt pay for development. Hopfully soon will have a K10d or a 20d who knows.
Now shooting with an XTI regret buying it:(
