Yes it will, especially when your playing with the new toy. I did a short bust of a horse galloping up the hill on an angle away from me, well, that was 14 photos lol. Prelim look on the camera and it looks like they may all be in focus. Eric.

I totally agree. I didn't have the time or should I say patience to sort through it all, and it hit the ground running with a two day x country horse event. It took some playing around and tweaking and I have to say a slight change of style/technique getting used to it. On overcast days and a smattering of rain and 4800 photos later (watch that shutter button) We developed an understanding together. I wish they had brought this out a couple of years ago.

With a complete re-build and new technology etc on the inside, and given the time frame since the last APSC release, it's not unreasonable to expect a few hundred $s extra in price. It's just the lower the better lol.
From everything I've read on it , the K3 III should be the ants pants, for me at least. If the image quality is as good as or better than the K1, I'll be stoked. I have taken the card out of the K3 II with the 70-200 on and
put it in the K1 with the 70-200 and kept photographing. When editing, the change of quality was clearly evident to me, enough to make me sit up and wonder what I'd done until I remembered lol. They just need to release it.
Would be nice to have it to take south for a 3 day event in 3 weeks.

I'm thinking around the $2195 - $2295 AUD. I hope for around the $1800 - $2000 AUD max tho'. At least I can use it as a tax offset.

As an Equine Event Photographer, I'd be in category 4 and 7 :D My K3 / K3II are /have been, used and abused extensively over the years and are somewhere north of 300K shutter actuations.
Category 7 is "need to upgrade" lol

I think this will help those new to the world of DSLR'S or perhaps even Pentax. They can start in the Program mode and as they get a little more comfortable with the camera, can start to try the other settings without changing the normal settings dial.
If they lose their way, one push of the Green button and they are back to "P" mode and can start again and not get flustered (if their knowledge is not great). As a predominantly Equine Event Photographer, this probably won't be of much use to me but
more for street photographers or perhaps landscape photographers who suddenly spot some wild life whilst out photographing.

CRK have the monopoly here, both on sales and on repairs unfortunately. It's annoying having to send gear over to the east for repairs.

A quick Google, Canikons and their ilk should be a trembling..... Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
The K new, almighty, all powerful. Is that speculative enough?? lol

I give in. I believe it has it, but it is grayed out in my menu. I've not bothered with it before but thought I'd have a look. The manual seems to be of no help. How do you activate it?
Thanks in advance. Eric.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the name "K-Nu" or Gnu (Gnu, (genus Connochaetes), also called wildebeest, either of two species of large African antelopes of the family Bovidae in the tribe Alcelaphini. They are among the most specialized and successful of African herbivores and are dominant in plains ecosystems.)
Lets see....Solid (Beast of a camera), fast (new focus system), graceful, specialized and successful and dominant in our own little echo system

My K3ii very recently did this exact same thing. North of 210,000 actuation's and I decided to send it of for a quote and check out the shutter/mirror box. Cost me $145.00 Aud. to fix. But had to send it back with the lens as I hit +10 af fine tune and was still back focusing abit. Apart from that, the camera was fine.

I sent the camera off to CR Kennedy for repairs (also sent her lens) and put an urgent request on it as was needed in two weeks. Pleased to say it came back in time
and works better than new. The engineer /Tech who worked on it did an excellent job on it. He " adjusted the camera focusing point as required. Calibrated lens using
Pentax servicing program. " The focus now locks on quicker and is more decisive and holds its focus much better in centre focus and tracking focus (centre). Shooting
horses coming over a jump towards you can be a little hit and miss in continuous shooting, a couple in focus a couple just off. Her keeper rate is now quite high in comparison
to before, which was generally quite good anyway. It certainly feels faster. We use first frame in focus and then fps in continuous and she says the only bad shots she had,
she knows was her doing. After using the old K3 (my K3ll is now over east after losing the back lcd viewing) for a whole day, I then on the next day, with threats of death if anything happens to her camera, used her K3ll and the difference is like chalk and cheese. I may have to send the K3 over to be looked at as that is in decisive a little in focusing, certainly stands out now.
I emailed the company and asked them to forward my thanks to the engineer, whose name was on the paper work. Thanks should be given where it's due.
Eric.

Lighting was good. As stated above 4meters. The MFD is from memory aprox 41 inches, a scratch over 1 meter. I have no probs calibrating front and back focus. This combination has worked perfectly for my daughter for about the last 9/10 months. It hasn't sustained any knocks. She likes the bokeh at 2.8 and it seems to work for her. To be honest, I don't know has she consistently does it. I taught her well lol. I prefer F3.5 or F4 and then F5.6 for presentations. (Daughter also adjusts for presentations) The problem is the focus is inconsistent.

No, It wasn't a perfectly blank wall but the wall was a few meters away. When I moved the camera off to the side then pressed the shutter release (in catch in focus mode) it doesn't trip until it got closer to the handle. My own gear would trip in the exact same spot regardless of which direction I panned from whereas my Daughters would trip either side pending on which direction I panned from. Yes I cleaned focus sensor in the bottom using the sensor cleaning kit.
UncleVanya
I'm curious about how you cleaned the submirror.
With the camera off, carefully lift the mirror (I used the plastic handle of the cleaning swab) then used a cleaning swab. I wet cleaned it then used a dry swab. also cleaned under the main mirror. I had practiced on one of the K 3s' first. Daughter is already peeved without me putting my life on the line lol.
