I've been using the 24 - 70 on my K3 for a while now and love it. I've used it for concert photography, shot a wedding reception with it, a portrait photoshoot and taken it on holidays where it stayed on the camera for all but a couple of shots. I have the 15 and 21 limiteds for wider and a Sigma 50-150 or Pentax 55-300 for the longer end. It's a great lens. Heavy, but great.

While not the main reason why I bought fast primes (the main reason being the need for more light in small concert venues), the added advantage is that shooting at f1.6 allows me to negate a very busy background in a way that even an f2.8 lens won't do properly from the same shooting distance. For example
