Av.
At the moment I am inside our house. Camera is at Av, ISO 1600, pointing the camera to a chair I measure 1/6 at f 4.5. Then I switch the flash on and camera jumps to 1/60 with the same aperture.

Hello everybody,
normally when you power on the flash the camera goes automatically to syncronisation time of 1/180.
Now it goes to 1/60. Tried to update the firmware of the camera (1.07) & the flash (5.01) and cleaned the contacts but the problem still excists.
Tried also a reset of the flash.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Jean-Marie

I've found a service manual in the web & on page 27 there is an adjustment procedure, it seems not very difficult to do.
Most important is that the misalignment of the leds has no influence at the focusing system.
I think I leave it like that.

Hi all,
bought a 2nd hand K10d-body to replace my other defective K10d & noticed that the AF-leds are not alligned in the AF-frame.
Is it possible to adjust the position in debug mode or are they only hardware-adjustable?
Can somebody help?
Thanks in advance,
Jean-Marie

Hi Rebecca,
it seems the same problem. I once more cleaned all the contacts, removed the lensmount to see if there is nothing bended inside this mount but nothing helps.
Last hope is that someone reads this message & help the both of us.
When I cannot find a solution I think to keep this body for my Sigma 10-20 & Pentax 100mm macro & find a second hand K10D-body.
Let's stay hopefull.

The MF-indicator in the viewfinder is always ON, no matter what the position of the AF.S-AF.C-MF is. The switch works properly with my Sigma 10-20mm lens (no HSM).

Can you check the following: is the 'MF-indicator' in your viewfinder always ON while you change the AF.S-AF.C-MF switch?

I just tried to downgrade the firmware to 1.30 & the camera gives me the message "Update file version is old. Cannot update". So I think this is not possible.

Good hint: I even tried AF.S & AF.C mode and I start thinking that maybe that switch is defective.

Sorry, I don't know what SDM exactly means & if you can find this at the body of the lens.
I've bought both lenses in january or february 2010 (full discription: Sigma 24-70mm 1:2.8 DG HSM EX & Sigma 70-200mm 1:2.8 II Macro HSM EX)
They work properly till last week.

Are these contact not round instead of squared? The contacts are located inside the mount at the lower right side.
Firmware already was 1.31 and I have reïnstalled the same version.
What I didn't try is reset to factory settings. Could this help?

Yes. These are the 2 contacts into the body (lower right side), aren't they?

TheHSM motors of my Sigma 24-70 & Sigma 70-200 are not activated. The Sigma10-20 which uses the in the body built in focus motor works properly. It looks like your body is in MF-mode, so you can release the shutter button at eachmoment & after that I hear a noise in the body (I think that the built infocus motor is activated). Inoticed the problem after I’ve cleaned the sensor, unfortunely I haven’tchecked if everything was OK therefore. What Itried to solve the problem: - checked& cleaned all contacts of lenses & body with isopropyl alcohol - reinstalledfirmware version 1.31 - removedbattery Does anyonerecognize this problem? It’s my second K10d who fails in 1 month (first crashesin an accident). Thanks inadvance, Jean-Marie |
