(Excuse potentially dumb question)

Is this good one to go for then? I know it doesn't say Vivtar on the tube, but I'm aware that Vivtar made lenses for lots of different companies, so this might be one. Or is it just a good option, and worth going for anyway?

Thanks for the in depth replies everyone! I think I'll go with the vivtar macro focusing teleconverter, and see if that gets me what I want (if nothing else, its a much cheaper option ).

Hi,
I’m thinking of getting a proper macro lens (macro tubes work, but are getting annoying, and Christmas is coming). The problem is that I’ve been using my 50mm with a set of macro tubes, ad have gotten used to the field of view and working distance that they give. What I want to know is if it is possible to simulate the field of view of other macro lenses with the equipment I have?
I have the A 50mm f1.7, 2 sets of cheap macro tubes, and 2 2x multipliers.
I’m most interested in the DFA 100mm wr macro, but would look at other lenses as well, if they would be much more useful.
Is there a setup of lenses and tubes that will give me close to what the 100mm wr would give?
Thanks!

It looks very good, and looks like a great upgrade from the K5 body, but its not for me. I want a smaller, not a bigger camera. If they put a K mount on the Ricoh GR, that'd make me happy.

Maybe just put a K mount and a penta-prism on th Ricoh GR? Make it look a bit like the Super-A, which would be around the same size, and call it the Super-5, as the Ricoh GR and the K-5 are vaguely similar in specs?

The wheel in Plymouth on a sunny day. Using a Ricoh 500G, and superia xtra 400, metered for ISO 100, as I'm using the wrong batteries. Its my entry to the Ricoh GR IV giveaway. Hopefully I uploaded it correctly!

It was shot using a Ricoh 500G and superia xtra 400, and scanned using a Canon MP490.

Dear Pentax,

If you put the internals of the Ricoh GR into a super-A sized body, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, if I could afford it. It'd just need weather resistance, in body anti shake, and a split prism. I'd happily lose in body auto focus. Call the mount KAF-3, and use it in compact bodies. I'd even be very happy for the body to grow a mm in each direction to gain weather sealing. Olympus managed weather resistance in the OM-D. You could even use micro-sd cards to save some space.

The lenses are a bit of a sticking point in my theory. I wonder if they can work the price of the lenses down? It'd be an interesting move, if thats what they are planning.

I'm beginning to wonder if they are planning to supprise the users with a cheep 645, using basically what they produce at the moment, but priced low enough to take on full-frame from the top or the middle of the Market? All the bits are there, it'd just be a case of reducing the price.
The interview in OPs Q&A seems to back this, with the other stuff that we've been hearing, as they seem to be saying that they want to keep to 3 different lines: Q, and small sensor, K and apsc, and 645.
