Hi, nice pic . I prefer the B/W one better. One question has the larger structure no roof as it looks strange. My opinion.

I quite like it.in my opinion the 'clutter' as you put it doesn't matter as my eye was drawn to the lifeguard tower.

first of all.what is shutter flop? is it when you press the shutter button it takes a picture then about a second later it seems (sounds )like it's taken another, but when you look at the pictures it's only taken one.also I have had problems lately with shutter freeze, and depleted battery display.took out battery and card left it overnight and all worked well.took afew pics all fine then went out earlier took a pic all good, the bang froze again.this time changed batt there and then took out card replaced ...nothing no action at all, then depleted message shown.turned camera off/on and could view the pics but no shutter action. Then recalling any earlier post by someone on the site I tapped the side by the auto/man focus button and it worked.then got home fired off a few shots inside and the same problem occured.what could be the problem? any advise is welcome......except throw the thing away, ha! thanks.

why does'nt the likes of sigma and tamrom make more lenses for pentax cameras, saw a test in a recent mag on macro lenses.the pentax one was the dearest but came out poorly in iq,etc, yet tamron and sigma which were cheaper had better iq,but only fitted canon ,nikon etc.

thanks for your replies,it would seem that the battery i got was the worst of the lot as it sent camera into meltdown.I have tried it since and it would not let me do a dust check,so I inserted the battery which came with the k-5 which allowed me to do so. ,"-).

I am not saying pentax make batteries,I'm just saying the battery which came with the camera has never caused any problems.but the new (third party) one has caused the camera to malfunction .

Has anyone had any trouble with 3rd party batteries? I got one from a site advertising in a well know camera mag.I tried it it seemed okay, then charged it and took it away with me on hols, when original k-5 battery went flat I inserted 3rd party one, seemed okay untill the following day when it sent camera into melt down.all the info was displayed on back of camera ,but it wouldn't take a picture.then once shutter button was pushed it displayed battery empty.Turned off then on,battery full untill I tried to take picture.Replaced with k-5 original, and got exactly the same.after about an hour of messing around,i got fed up and took battery out and left camera in room.went back later and took out memory card, replaced it and original k-5 battery and everything has been fine ever since.have not tried 3rd party battery again.

Hi all, alan here letting you know the outcome of my k-5 saga.everything is fine the battery works well and holds a charge.Thinking back I don't belive I removed the battery whilst doing the upgrade, only the memorycard,so I belive that was where the problem arose from.message to myself.....FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS..I hope this may help someone else who has the same problem.thanks again.

evening all thanks for your advice,I got up this morning (I feel a song coming) and although the camera was off it was warm.I removed the memory card and the battery, then replaced them.the camera worked fine, although the battery was on its last legs,I think while it was malfunctioning it did'nt turn off correctly and drained the battery.Am currently charging the battery and will let you all know the outcome.ie.if battery is history.thanks again for your advice.
