I know what you're saying, I have the DA*16-50mm, 50-135*mm, DA*60-250mm, DA*300, DFA 150-450mm they are all fantastic lenses just too big and heavy to carry around.
The Olympus 300mm F4 Pro is slightly bigger than the DA*300mm but when mounted on the EM1 mkII it is giving me more reach and better image stabiliser than my K3 II and DA*300mm, it is a great walk-around wildlife kit, no monopod or tripod required.

That wouldn't change the size of the lenses though, compare the DFA 70-200mm F2.8 to the Oly 40-150mm Pro, as I get older it's nice to not have to lug that weight around.
I'm looking at getting a kit together ready for my retirement, that's why I'm testing the Olympus system, up to now I'm very impressed with the EM1 mkII and Pro lenses.

I'm using 2x K3 II and a K5. Autofocus is the main problem I didn't realise how slow the Pentax are until I've used the Olympus, I think this is more to do with the lenses than the body.
Also I'm looking at lightening the load a bit the Olympus Pro lenses are a lot smaller and give fantastic image quality, the 40-150mm F2.8 gives a 80-300mm F2.8 equivalent in a lot smaller size which is easy to hand hold.
I can get the EM1 mkII with 12-40mm Pro and 40-150mm Pro lenses and this give me a 24-300mm F2.8 range in a really small kit, easy to carry around the Lake District fells :-) ---------- Post added 06-06-19 at 08:28 AM ----------
I beg to differ here the DFA* 70-200 f2.8 is huge compared to the Oly 40-150mm Pro, I'm sure the KP and DFA* 70-200mm would be a lot heavier than the G9 and Oly 40-150.
I've used the Olympus EM1 mkii and 40-150mm pro and it is a lot lighter than my K3 and sigma 70-200mm, it almost feels like you're cheating getting the 300mm reach on such a small combo.

I've got fed up waiting for the K3 successor so have got an Olympus EM1 mkII on Pro loan from Olympus UK, a very nice camera and the Pro lenses are fantastic...looks like I'll soon be an Olympus shooter.

I use my DA15mm along with the DA20-40m Ltd and K3II when hiking, it's a good lightweight combination. To tell you the truth I tend to use the 20-40mm more than the 15mm...... but it's always there just in case.

I don't think it will be a KP Mark II, I think the sales of the KP were disappointing so Pentax won't risk another KP.

It looks like things are moving forward though and can Pentax afford to be left behind ?

That was my old travel kit, I sold the 21 and 40mm and bought the 20-40mm Ltd and have never regretted it.
K3II 20-40mm Ltd , 15mm Ltd or 70mm Ltd and spare battery can fit in a Billingham Hadley.... brilliant travel kit.

Just passing on what I was told by my local Pentax dealer.
The shutter went in my K3 and I didn't want to invest £230 to have a 4+ year old camera fixed.
I went to my local camera shop and said I had concerns about investing in a new K3II when a replacement could be imminent, he assured me the K3II replacement wasn't imminent and would probably released about this time next year.
He did confirm the K1II is imminent and the K1 will be dropping in price soon, he tried to persuade me to go FF but didn't succeed :-)

I can't see this upgrade making any difference to K3 owners, if they wanted FF they would have gone for the K1.

I'm quite happy with that, looks like minor update to me (not enough to entice me into going FF)........ looks like the K3II replacement will be the Pentax major announcement, or is that just wishful thinking :-)

Sounds like you're thinking the same as me. I got the K3 when it was first released and have been hoping for a replacement for the last 12 months....... hurry up Pentax/Ricoh I've got money burning a hole in my pocket :)

I hope the next APSC will be aimed more towards the Sports/Wildlife photogs.
16 or 24mp, better high ISO, faster focussing and higher frame rate would make me happy :-)

I've updated my laptop from Windows7 to Windows10 no problems, and my PC Windows8.1 to 10 no problems :-)
My laptop is quite old but seems to run quicker on 10 and I think my PC is a bit snappier too, I didn't mind Windows 8 but 10 is an improvement.

Do you really need any kind of SR when using shutter speeds of 1/1600 to 1/2000, I think I'd leave it off.

Certainly sounds like it is camera settings dependant.
I always have the display turned off to conserve the battery, it's sounds like you have the displayed turned on and the new firmware (1.20) is OK if you have settings like this.
