Does anyone here use extension tubes on their Pentax cameras? I would like to find some for my k3 to play with. AF would be best for now.
Any information or suggestions would be welcome. Thank you,
maria

If I put my camera in AV mode it won't do anything. I can adjust aperture with the dials on top of the camera. How do you get it to work in AV mode?
Thank you.

Thank you. Is there really a lens with a focal length of 1000mm?

It came today and after a bit of fiddling and finally reading the instructions I got the lens on and working. I don't understand why it keeps wanting me to select a focal length. Wouldn't it always be 8mm? Is there an advantage to selecting another focal length? I will get to play tomorrow with it outside and perhaps find out. It's my first fully manual lens and I have a bit to learn yet.
It looks like fun tho and I am looking forward to playing with it.

Rokinon 8mm fisheye lens

I have just received a Rokinon 8mm fisheye lens and have been trying to learn as much about it as I can. It's my first manual lens and I am not sure why, when I turn on the K3 it asks me what focal length I want. It's an 8mm fish eye so wouldn't 8mm be what I should use? It goes all the way to 1000mm. It came too late today to go out and test it much, other than to make sure the camera could see it so I have not been able to do any testing yet. Is there a point to choosing another focal size? Not sure why the question comes up whenever I turn on the camera. any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, your way with the leaf worked better. Took me a few minutes to recognize the second one was a candle until I saw the wick. Nice work.

Love the musicality of the top one. The movement in the leaf veins really works well.
I like the reflections and the color in the second one. It has an unworldly feel.

Oh, I do like that one. The warm tones are just perfect. The 15mm is the lens I will be using for my adventure. I was sidetracked into getting stuff ready for a couple of shows, so I had to get pieces framed , matted and all that and fill out a bunch of paperwork. I didn't want to turn them down because one is the local art museum and another was set up by a friend and I had little time to get ready. I am hoping that our clouds will hang around 'til tomorrow because would really like to shoot these buildings with the 15mm.
I do admire your shot, hope mine turn out half as good.

Nice photos . I see what you mean. Since the K3 is not full frame I will try the 15mm and see what that does. Might as well try several lenses and see what happens.
Thank you,
maria

In a rather run down area of town I noticed several interesting tall buildings, some look like cotton gins and some like large storage buildings. There is something so fascinating about the structure and shape that I am going to go out tomorrow morning and try to get some decent shots. I do not have a tilt shift lens but do have a 35mm 15mm and 50mm as well a couple of mid zooms. I have never photographed buildings before and wondered if I could get some advice on the best lenses or any advice anyone will share. The buildings look to be 40 + feet tall and I hope to able to get fairly close.
thank you,
maria

Just got it yesterday and am looking forward to playing with both it and the standard 50mm. I was at a small local gallery here today and the owner, who has bought a few of my pieces offered me a one person show of my glass and marble works so I will have lots of reasons to work hard with these lenses. What fun!

I have a large desk behind me and I sometimes back up against it with the 90. It's probably just me and not the lens. Most of what I shoot are still life and abstract compositions using glass and acrylic cubes, marbles, and colored cellophane sheets and LED lights so active subjects are not an issue. If my props began to move around I will be looking for an IR filter to catch the ghosts.
Thank you so much for your advice and information.
