LX prism stuck

In a very sad box of cameras I recently got, a very sad LX was buried. After exercising it some, I got the dreaded "slow mirror" to go away ( probably temporary, but I'll take it), and with batteries in the shutter seems to work just fine.
But for the life of me cannot get the prism to come off. The manual says you push the button in, press the lever counterclockwise and the prism slides off the back.
When I push the button and turn the lever, nothing releases.
Any ideas what to try?
Would love to get this old thing cleaned up and running

I have a number of pentax film bodies, but none autofocus, or auto much of anything. Recently bit the bullet and bought a new d fa 70-200; still figuring out how best to use it, but great lens on my digital body.
Is there a film body that I can use this lens on since it has no aperture ring?

Does anyone have a Billingham Hadley Small bag for a compact K-5 II kit?

I have a billingham bag, ( bigger than what you are looking for) that is probably 35 years old and still going strong; been banged around all over the world. I also have a much smaller Domke bag that I really like except for one flaw; when closed, the top tends to leave a gap at the ends of the bag, so if the weather is funky you have to be careful. It has inner pocktes, but not padded.

Buying a TLR Rolleiflex - is it nuts?

I have had several yashicas, ( 124,D), a mamiya c33, and while they were ok, they dont hold a candle to a good rollei. I was never impressed with the lenses for my c33, and it was huge. A MF slr made more sense to me if you want interchangeable lenses. The yashicas were quite capable, but get yourself a 2.8 planar lensed rollei and you are in another league. They are a magic design that has stood the test of time. Most any repairman can fix them, they dont need much. My e model was beat when I bought it 25 years ago, I had a cla once, and have shot thousands of frames through it. It will still be wroking long after I am not, assuming I dont do something stupid to it.
The tessar lensed rolleis are capable also, but the planars in my experience are noticably sharper.
Buy one and dont look back- easy to resell for what you gave for it if you dont like it.

I am old, have been shooting for 45 years, and have used at one time or another a huge multitude of cameras. I want to be buried with my rollei. Nothing compares. Near perfect design and build. Go for it.

cactus v6/YN560-11 problem

I have three cactus v6 triggers, and using a YN560-11 flash, and pentax af-360 fgz. The problem is that I cannot consitantly get the YN to fire from the trigger. It will always fire if i hit the manualabutton on the front of the trigger, but no matter what settings i use on either flash or trigger, it will pretty much just fire when it feels like it. No problem with the pentax flash, and it matters not which V6 units i use.
I do not understabd why it fires all the time if triggered manually, but then wont fire from the trigger even though the trigger is properly synched, and works fine with the other flash. Ideas?

Thanks for all the replies.
Unfortunatley, I do not have matching cables for the cactus units. My film gear does not have hot shoes, I have always used these flashes with cables, and they work fine in that mode, but I cannot test the hot shoes that way.
I think the issue is with my flashes, and not the triggers. They are easy to set up, and when triggered they both light up appropriately.
When jumping with a wire across the pin, as suggested, the flashes will not fire.
Considering how old these flashes are, and the fact that they have pretty much always had synch cords in, I would not be surprised if the leaf spring someone mentioned is toast on the vivitars ( I have 2), and I bet the sunpack has much the same.
Time to figure out how to open these puppies up.................

Cactus v6 help

I bought three cactus v6 gizmos to use several old flashes that I have with my pentax k-5. I have a couple vivitar 283's, and a sunpak 333. For some reason I cannot get any of these flashes to flash using the cactus triggers. I figure I must be doing something very simple and wrong. I get the untis set up in manual mode, all on the same channel, all in the same group. When triggered, the green lights on the cactus receivers and transmitters all light up, so I think that means they are working together.
But the flashes will not fire. The flashes fire fine on my film gear using pc cables. I cleaned the hot shoe connections on the flash with electronics cleaner, but nothing.
Any ideas?

help me decide between a 67 and a 645n

A few years back, i ended up with a 465 with 50 and 150mm lenses, and a 67 with 90 and ( I think) 55mm lens. The 645 format was new to me, always having been a bigger is better sort of guy who over the decades shot tons of 6x6, 6x9, 4x5, and 8x10. Anyway, I did extensive testing of my two cameras/lenses, using acros in pmk pyro. Imagine my surprise when the 645 turned in images that were sharper, and at enlargements as big as my D2 will make, made better prints than the 6x7. I posted my results on another forum, and some folks got really mad. My thought is that modern films are good enough that to see any real advantage in the final print, the jump from 645 to 67 is just not enough. Other things become limiting factors- shake, how flat the film is held, the quality of the lenses, etc. i just could not justify using the 67 over the 645, even though i liked its ergonomics better.
