I took this snap-shot several years ago at the museum of modern art of Rovereto (Italy), using an old little jewel, the Ricoh 500g, putting the camera on a step to elevate it from the floor level and using the self-shot. I suppose, the lens was at full aperture (2.8, sorry, no way to have exif data on a film... ;-)). The film was scanned with an old flatbed Epson scanner (i think it was perfection 4180)
The picture has got several technical defects but, I like the atmosphere in the room, and the full lens aperture, the low artificial lights and the film development that made the film quite grainy added, in my opinion, a special taste to the final result.

Is this guy a stranger? It depends, may be it's me who is stranger for him... But may be he is a stranger because is trying to develops himself, his own personal culture and personality without forgetting thousands of years of cultural heritage.
Quoted
ps: I approve the previous technical suggestion about the correction of the overexposed areas...

I'm not judging the technical aspects, but this is the image apparently more related to the strangers problem today.
Anyway, if possible, I'll give some more quote , because I would like to emphasize we should think to who can be consider a "stranger" today... We can't no longer think "western", an may be a western citizen in a western country can feel itself more stranger than anybody else..

The pictures have to be taken using Pentax or Ricoh cameras: my Samsung gx10 is the homozygote twin of the old Pentax k10d, I use pentax k lenses, if any, could I post my digital pictures?
Thank you of the kind attention
A.

In my opinion, this picture is the most appropriate of the bunch, according to the title of the contest.
I like the composition and use of light and of depth of field as previously mentionned.
Also the point of view as well the general defocussing give a dreamy taste of intimacy, despite of the classicity of the subject.
Last but not least I like the original shot is an old chemical picture: a good image doesn't expire.

Hi to all the "Pentaxians",
It's a pleasure to meet you at that forum: I started to take slides with a manual K-Mount camera, a Ricoh KR5 super. When I bought a used MX, I felt in love with the Pentax brand and at the end of analog age I stored up an MEsuper, an ME-F, a P30, 2 SuperA. Now I use a K10D ...oops, really it's a sammy GX10. I like it, digital photography has got a lot of advantages, but I have to admit, taking analog pictures was funnier. All the best
