I have 7 days in NYC of which I will have the first 4 days on my own as my wife is attending a conference those days.
It is my first time there and I plan on seeing most of the main attractions. What I would love was pointers and tips on the best way/sites from where to capture fx. The Empire State building etc. Maybe specific Street names where to find that NY spirit/mood.

Hi All
I have been watching and reading with great pleasure on the side line for quite a while now.
I do now find I need a bit of advice...
I have been doing a bit of macro with my M 50 F1.7 attached to some pentax extension tubes and believe I am getting some pretty good results. I do however find it a bit time consuming doing everything manually and am thinking about purchasing a macro lens as fx fa50 f2.8, f100 f2.8 or similar.
I suppose it will be "easier" but what about the end result in terms of IQ?

Hi All
My name is Ryan. I am 38 years old. Have been serious about photography since me and thr misses were expecting the birth of our first child 6 years ago and wanted to capture this fantastic period of our lives. So I went looking for a DSLR, found a good deal and where it might as well could have been anything but I ended up with a pentax :) And I Have been very happy ever since.
Am mostly doing portraits, nature and City pictures. Next step will be macro work I think.
