Both are fine, daylight loaders are just easier to use. I still have a SS tank somewhere.

I think lots of folks like small cameras but that’s only half the story, some modern lenses are huge. In a recent interview a Sony representative said the are “listening to customers requests for smaller lenses”.

As a point of interest it has always amazed me how long the battery lasts in my K5. I bought a spare years ago but have never needed it.

I’ve not used them for some time but I’ve got 120 and 35mm “Rondinax” Daylight loading tanks made by Agfa.

I realise the Sigma 8-16 is a bit slow but is it a complete loss for star photography?

I’d rather buy new to be honest. I’m also lead to believe the low light capabilities of the K3 aren’t as good as the K5 is this correct?

I bought my K5 not long after they came out and have been happy with it apart from perhaps the inclusion of an AA filter which I think at times affects the sharpness. I now feel the need to upgrade but Pentax don’t seem to have any intention of introducing anything new so that leaves me with the existing line of cameras. I don’t much like the look of the KP and it gets quite a bit of criticism over the dials and grip. This leaves the K70. Is it a decent upgrade from a K5 and am I likely to notice the difference in quality. Am I right in thinking the K70 doesn’t have an AA filter? Given the way camera prices have been going lately I think it’s quite possible anything new to replace the K3ii may be over budget anyway.

OK, I found an answer somewhere else  "The resolution of Nikon's latest pro lenses (14-24, 16-35, 70-200) is designed to support at least 60 MP on FX and 24 on DX"

I guess this has been mentioned before but how many Megapixels on an APS-C size sensor before current lenses become the limiting factor?

Very pleased with my 44 AF-1 as well. The thing to ask any owner is, having used one would you buy it again? and in my case yes!

The guy can't even pronounce Nikon - yeah I know we've been there before but it's still "Knee-con" or "Nick-on" and absolutely not "Neye-con" FCS! :p

This was one of several reasons I bought my first Pentax, a K10D. Other reasons included ISO priority (on dial, not in menu like others) and no Mickey Mouse (sorry Mickey!) pictogram modes on-dial.

I really wonder if all K5's are affected as I've taken pictures in some pretty low light levels and not had a FF problem that I am aware of. Problem is I guess is that it may be hard to tell if you use a small aperture? I've loaded the latest firmware but must admit I've not been disappointed with focus on my K5 to date.

It's been suggested that if you choose to use in camera lens correction if will slow down camera write speeds. Have any of you checked this or have practical experience? I think I'd like to keep CA lens correction turned on - but not if it's going to slow the camera down significantly!

It's not a bad idea and I'm sure it will work for some folks if they don't mind the price.
I won't buy one though, and more importantly even though I have the tools I probably won't make one for myself!
