Anyone else needing/wanting high quality FDA F4 zoom lenses?

The Nikon runs about $1100, and it includes VR. I would think Pentax could price similar to that. Not sure how it would be the "most expensive lens in Pentax' portfolio."

I agree that it would cannibalize some f2.8 lens sales though.

I second the request for a 24-120 f4. I don't think it would ever leave my camera.

Outdoor Photographer has really diminished the last several years. The last issue was a "double issue" and it was about 100 pages. A standard issue used to run 100 pages. Then they were 74 for a while. Now they have been running about 64 pages. I let my subscription laps two years ago, but then they sent me a renal offer I could not refuse. The most recent issue should be my last, and by the sound of it, it could be everyone's last issue.

I used to really enjoy OP, but it seems that the quality of the articles has really diminished. The amount of ads has also diminished, and that is probably a big part of their problem.

New Lens Patents, including 24-90 f4

AS a guy who only owns four lenses, and uses only one 90% of the time, I would buy this. The only thing I would like better would be a 24-120 f4 like Nikon makes. I shoot APSc btw.

After making any adjustments, if you try to move on to the next photo you will get a pop-up that says you need to save your work. It is non-destructive, so you can always return to your raw file and start over. But I don't want to start over. I am using ACDSee Pro10, so it is four or five years old. They may have changed it. There was a major update right after I purchased it.

For me a major draw back to ACDSee is needing to save your work before moving on to the next photo. If you return to a photo after saving, all the sliders are reset to zero so you cannot see what adjustments you have already made. It works okay if you work on what photo until it is done, but i like to come back and make additional tweaks.

Thanks for finding that. I started reading that thread when it was first opened, but gave up way before page 16. Good news indeed!

After reading this yesterday I went looking for a thread that might contain this "recent report" but I cam coming up empty. Can you enlighten me? Though I will probably never own a 645 I am hopeful that Pentax does continue the line. As Edward Abbey once said, I may never get to Alaska, but I am still glad it's there.

What's the difference between Program made and Auto mode?

Green mode does not allow adjustments to focus points either. If you have the camera set to a certain focus point, in green mode it will revert to the camera picking the focus point. I suspect it does the same with the metering mode as well. In short, green mode does not allow user control. P mode does.

New K-Mount Roadmap - Feb 2021

Yes, I noticed that, and no it does not explain why they did not take the time to make such a small update as to change "2017 or later" to 18/19/20/21 which was the point I was making.

New K-Mount Roadmap - Feb 2021

It has been on the road map for quite some time. I would not read anything into its position.

---------- Post added 02-25-21 at 10:16 AM ----------

The last update to the Q road map was to remove a future lens. The 645 road map still touts two future lenses, but curiously they have not updated the "2017 or later" that goes along with them.

This picture is of my brother in-law Seth, climbing a route called "Threading the needle" in Custer State Park, South Dakota, USA. The Spire is about 100 feet tall and the route starts on the front side, then you must stem through the eye of the needle, before topping out on the back side. It is one of the most fun routes I have ever climbed. The climb is rated 5.8+.

Rain over the Sangre de Cristos

After the bulk of the storm had the passes, the sun peeked out and the water in the two-track. It does not take much rain to make this "road" impassable, so I stepped out of the car to see how greasy the surface was. It was greasy. I probably should have turned around, but then I would have missed this shot. North Eastern New Mexcio. Where the mountains meet the plains.

This is the one lens I would buy today if it were available. I would be happy with 24-120, or even 105, but 150 would be amazing!

Maybe 8 of them are for the new mirrorless mount...

Sorry, I could not resist.
