Item for Sale
PENTAX DA 50mm F1.8

Asking Price
120.00 USD

Item Location
Dallas, TX (United States)

Item Description
I bought this Pentax DA 50mm F1.8 during the last Pentax Store Sale in September. This lens is as new as you can get, there is not a single thing wrong with it. I tried it out a couple times and I decided just won't use it. So I thought I pass it along to the others that are waiting for Pentax to ever get these back in stock. It is a great little lens as far as I can tell. I just keep trying primes but they aren't for me. Comes with the original box, caps, basically everything it came with it and I'll send the receipt for warranty purposes if ever needed.

BH Photo wants $181.00 for this lens now. The Pentax store has out these on back order - with unknown availability.

I paid $130 with delivery charges on 10-06-14.

I'm asking $120 and I will cover PayPal fees and USPS Priority shipping to the Continental USA only.

Can anyone identify this piece of gear?

This was an accessory for the original Vivitar 283 flash. There was a bracket that attached on the tripod mount and the cable release was attached to the shutter button. Worked OK for the time period. You need the base plate/bracket for it to be of any use. I bought one back in the 70's when these first came out. Now it lives in a box somewhere. A bit bulky and dated.

Sigma 18-35 f1.8 - B&H shipping

I pre-ordered from B&H several months ago and received it Wednesday. I put it thru it's paces, then packaged it up and sent it back for a refund on Thursday.

I thought I'd like the limited focal range and the fast aperture, but the lens just didn't bowl me over. Image quality was OK, but nothing special. DoF at 1.8 is super narrow (i knew this coming in) and it was hard to get good focus wide open. It did sharpen up nicely by 2.8.

The lens, to me, just felt awkward on the end of my K5. It is like there is more weight at the very outer end of this lens, unlike the balance of my old 16-50. I knew the weight and size might be a issue before I bought it - but this lens just didn't work well for me.

To each is own I guess. I'm glad I was able to give this lens a good work out - but I think I can find a better way to spend 800 bucks.

I'm open to offers. I really want to see this great little lens go to a good home.

It takes wonderful pictures on par with the kit lens, but it goes out all the way out to 250mm. All in one easy to carry package.

Item for Sale
Pentax DA 18-250mm

Asking Price
300.00 USD

Item Location
Texas (United States)

Item Description
SMC Pentax DA 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 super zoom. Great travel lens, light, great focal range. Lens is in excellent condition.

I originally bought this great lens for vacations because of its focal range and one lens solution for travel shots. I've paired down my Pentax kit and I'm only keeping my DA300, 18-135 WA to use with my K5.

Cones with the lens, hood, caps, box and original paper work. Optics are clear, no scratches, fungus as far as I can see. It lives mostly in the lens cabinet and only comes out to play on vacations. I also will send along a black rubber wrist band that keeps the lens from creeping out. If you want a one lens solution this is a great investment.

I'll cover PayPal fees and USPS shipping.

Price $300.00

Yes indeed all these are awesome lenses I was thinking that the new XF18-135 WR would be used more. I find the older I get the less likely I want to carry around and be switching out a bunch of primes.

---------- Post added 07-02-14 at 08:07 AM ----------

Prices lowered on these two awesome lenses. Thanks for looking

---------- Post added 07-03-14 at 11:39 AM ----------

XF27 now sold.

The XF18 still for sale, make an offer if you are interested.

Thanks,

Mike

Item for Sale
FUJIFILM XF27 and XF18 Lenses

Asking Price
325.00 USD

Item Location
Flower Mound, Texas (United States)

Item Description
I know there are a few FujiFilm shooters that also shot Pentax so I thought I list this here as well as other FujiForums.

Up for sale are three XF lenses that don't see all that much use from me since acquiring them.

All lenses are in great shape and come with original boxes, caps, hoods, etc. and the picture illustrate that the are barely used. The box for the 18mm is torn a bit but that doesn't effect the condition of the lens.

The 35mm and 18mm were purchased on this and another forum last July. The silver 27mm was bought new on 12-03-13 (before the great sale this spring).

I can take more pictures if needed, but I can't see any notable flaws on any of these lenses.

Shipping is $10 each USPS priority to any lower 48 state. Buying two or all three will discount shipping. I have bought and sold on this forum, on FujiXFourms.com and also on ebay. I can supply references if needed. Payment is by PayPal verified address only. Thank you for looking.

XF 18 f2.0........$390.00 + shipping NOW $325.00 + Shipping or best offer

XF 27 F 2.8......$295.00 + shipping (SOLD)

XF 35 f1.4....... $410.00 + shipping (SOLD)

It didn't take this guy long to figure out out to raid the woodpecker feeder. After putting a baffle on the hanging wire his raids were quickly ended.

This is a merge of two photos taken within minutes of each other using a K20 + DA300 with CIF enabled. I was surprised when reviewing the images to see the squirrel filling his face

Here is another CIF photo just after I hung a regular bird feeder out for the first time. Reminds me of a scene from Mission Impossible : )

Then he climbs aboard it like it is the "SHAKE-A-SEED" ride at the squirrel carnival fair. Dumping all the seed for his buddies below.

I've had good luck buying and selling on the fourm for the past six years - (I probably have had 3-4 thousand dollars in trnaactions), but the over the past year it seems like some people (maybe newer members) are just wanting things for nothing.

I'm never that desperate for cash. God forbid if you are because the wolves will be out in force.

So I'd rather keep what I have for sale rather than give it away. I have friends and family that I'll give it to.

I use the lens review as a price guideline always figure I could throw in shipping and paypal fees as a counter offer, maybe even come down 20 bucks, but now people want $100 off items and what me to include shipping and fees. Yikes! that is asking a lot. Its getting to be that eBay looks like a deal with only 13% of a cut (selling and paypal fees).

The last few times I've tried to sell items I get ridiculous counter offers. I'll keep the item rather than take a huge lost.

I'm tired of buyers saying they only have a certain amount to spend and they expect you to give your equipment away for 70% of the listed price.

Things have really tighten up here over the past year. I'm sorry I upped my membership dues because I mainly use this forum for the marketplace.

Another Bag for Q Thread

There was another post recently, along with many others since the Q system has been released, and I thought I'd share my solution.

I've played around with many options since getting my Q system trying to find one that was right for me. Finally I adapted a Crumpler 3 Million Dollar Home (3MDH) that works for my Q system. I've used this for the past year and find it works really good for me.

Here is a photo to give you an idea of the size of the 3MDH (shown beside my well used TAMARC Holster bag that I use to carry my K-5 with a 18-135 or 18-250)

First off Crumpler is a well made camera bag with lots of useful storage. Most of all it doesn't wreak of "hey that is a camera bag - please steal me".

I found mine on ebay for $45 with free shipping. They are usually on sale for $45-50 USD.

Previously I had the 2MDH which worked well for the 01, 02, 03 and one body. But when I bought the 06 I needed a larger bag and stayed with Crumpler and the 3MDH works great.

Here is what I can get in it....2 bodies with lenses 01, 02, 03. 30.5mm CPL, 30.5-49mm step up with a +3 closeup filter and 4 spare batteries.

The standard bag comes with one divider which I use as a horizontal spacer and only attach one of the velcro tabs to the inside and fold over the other tab so it can hinge up. I liberated a divider from another case (seens every case comes with a few spares. I used it as a vertical divider in the lower compartment. Here the O6 sits on the left hand side and their is room for two of the smaller lenses. I've got the 03 stacked on top of a 01 to show you how they would fit, but usually I only carry only a single 01 so this space is used for when lenses are switched out.

Here is the lower compartment

I can fit two bodies side by side in the upper level for transporting. I usually keep one body in the bag and the other one is on a strap around my neck when shooting.

THis photo shows the top compartment w/o the cameras in place. I use a little divider here from another source that keeps the 2 bodies from touching. It folds out of the way if I only carry one body.

Anyway this works well for when I want to have a small kit. Not bad for a complete camera system that fits into DSLR holster sized bag.

Sigma 50-500 or Sigma 150-500?
Posted By mpreston

When I had the 150-500 I was very impressed with the images as long as you had good light and stopped down a couple notches. I mostly used it for backyard birding and got some really good shots with it hand held. It is a huge lens extended and the OS and HSM worked really well. It took me a while to figure out to turn off the SR on the camera or turn off the OS on the lens, because with both of them on it didn't seem to work as well as using only one.

I probably would of kept 150-500, but I with my DA*300 working so well in the backyard at 30-50 feet there was no reason to have both. If I was a true birder in the wild I think this Sigma would really be at home on a tripod and flash beamer setup.

Here are a couple of captures I took while I owned the Sigma 150-500...now it is at a good home in the great white north.

Red-belly Woodpecker (K-5 SIGMA 150-500: 1/640 sec, f 10, ISO 2000 at 440mm handheld)

Bluejay (K-5 SIGMA 150-500: 1/800 sec, f 8, ISO 2000 at 500mm handheld)

Looking for a DA 18-135 to replace the 18-50 and 50-135 I sold off. I just want a kick about WR with some rangelens rather than the kit 18-50WR lens

I've seen some here sell for $325 with shipping and that is about what I'm wanting to spend +/- depending on condition of what you got to offer.

Show me what you got...

Thanks,

Mike

These guys show up often on the edge of the woods looking for an easy dinner at the bird feeder in our backyard...it gets really quiet when they show up.

This one didn't like it too much when I snuck up underneath him to get a better vantage point...it still is a significant crop to get this image. The wind was blowing his chest feathers to expose his lifted leg

Here the leg is hidden under the feathers. These where taken about 8:30 in the morning
