Nikon's problem with the D500 is that they really never came out with much in the way of DX lenses. I had the D500 - it was a great camera but I eventually sold it because of that. I recently bought a KP with a 20-40 lens and a DA70mm and will be looking to add more lenses...
and in time I expect I'll add a K3-3 body

Seems to be coming and going from Adorama and B&H (of course, no flash at B&H). I bought the black KP at Adorama on Tuesday, and it had the free flash - $696.95. Also bought the 20-40 limited for $496.95
Nice to get all that for less than $1300 including tax. And it'll be good to be shooting with Pentax equipment again. Last Pentax cameras I had were the K-01 and Q.

Earlier today, listened to Tom Jones Live on Soundstage, which I ordered recently from Amazon (I still prefer getting the physical CD, and then I burn it to my computer and can play on that or my phone.) It's a great album. I really like some of the newer songs he's done recently, like "Burning Hell". Fantastic. Followed that up with the soundtrack for the movie "Dark City".

I owned a 2011 VW Golf TDI. Loved that car - fantastic torque, great mileage, was extremely solid on the freeway and handled like a sports car on twisty roads. The interior was great as well. Unfortunately, we all know what happened with VW diesels.
The good news was that I got enough from VW that I was able to buy a brand-new VW Golf Alltrak station wagon for the money we got (partly because even though we had the car for 3 1/2 years, we only lost about 3 grand on it with the buyback, and partly because our local newspaper has an online auction twice a year and one of our VW dealers had the Alltrak listed. I waited til the last 3 minutes of the auction and bid just enough to win it. Got one heck of a deal on the car.)
It's been a great car - we got it last April and have put about 14,000 miles on it since we got it. I retired at the end of 2017, and this Wednesday we are taking off for a 45 day driving and cruise vacation. (11 days from Minneapolis to LA, with stops at various places along the way, then a 15 day cruise from LA to Hawaii and back, then another 2 weeks or so back, with additional stops at National Parks and other places of interest.) We plan on putting about 5k miles on the car. It handles pretty much the same as the Golf did, but has the additional benefit of all wheel drive when needed (a good thing in this part of the country).
We had hoped to put about 300k miles on the Golf - it'll be fun to see how much we can put on the Alltrak before it needs to be traded in.

Beautiful picture of a great camera. Nice, Khalid!
I have two K-01's - one white and one yellow. I bought the second one for a fraction of what I paid for the first. I retired at the end of December, and my wife and I are taking off this Wednesday for a 45-day trip. I'm taking the 2 K-01's and four lenses. I used the yellow K-01 a few years ago when we drove to Glacier National Park and the Grand Tetons. The K-01 does not disappoint!

No - it's not nuts. I owned a Rolleiflex 2.8GX for a few years, finally selling it and using the money for something else. I could kick myself. The camera was a jewel - incredibly well-built and a pleasure to shoot with. They've only gone up in value since I sold mine.

Welcome to the forum, Stan. I think this is one of the most positive photographic forums I've come across. Some feel like they are entirely populated by 16 year old boys with too much testosterone; this has many very helpful people, and critiques seem to be done in a good way.

I'd buy a Hasselblad V-series kit in as close to mint as I could get it and just shoot film. Any digital I'd just use my iPhone. Probably get a really top-notch scanner.

I have a Mac mini from 4 years ago - I use it hooked up to my Panasonic 42" plasma TV as my media center - have the Apple bluetooth trackpad and keyboard (I also have a MacBook Air that I use for pretty much all the normal computer stuff....) It's been great! Never a bit of trouble - eventually I filled up the hard drive with movies, music, photos, and bought a terabyte hard drive that I transferred the media to to free up space on the internal hard drive. With the new OS there is some great automatic integration across the other apple products. I would heartily recommend it. I work in IT and during the day everything is on Windows 7; at home I use Apple products.

I have a similar Gariz 1/2 case for my Nikon Df, and it's a great case. Beautiful, functional, well put together. Haven't had any issue with the battery door.
